ਕਰ ਸੋ ਔਸੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਕੈ ਲਈ ਸਲਾਕ ਉਠਾਇ ॥

kar so aauasee kaadt kai lee salaak utthaae |

While drawing the lines thus, she had taken away the pipe,

ਹ︀ਯਾਂ ਰੋਦਨ ਕੋਊ ਕਿਨ ਕਰੋ ਕਹਿ ਸਿਰ ਧਰੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੧੧॥

hayaan rodan koaoo kin karo keh sir dharee banaae |11|

And told him not to cry there and go back to his house.(11)

ਚੋਰ ਸੁਨਾਰੋ ਚੁਪ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਬੋਲਿਯੋ ਜਾਇ ॥

chor sunaaro chup rahiyo kachhoo na boliyo jaae |

The goldsmith kept quiet and could not say anything,

ਪਾਈ ਪਰੀ ਸਲਾਕ ਕਹਿ ਸੋਨਾ ਲਯੋ ਭਰਾਇ ॥੧੨॥

paaee paree salaak keh sonaa layo bharaae |12|

And the woman took away the pipe filled with gold.(12)

ਹਰੀ ਸਲਾਕ ਹਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਸ੍ਵਰਨ ਤੋਲਿ ਭਰਿ ਲੀਨ ॥

haree salaak haree triyeh svaran tol bhar leen |

This way a woman took away the pipe containing gold,

ਚਲ︀ਯੋ ਦਰਬੁ ਦੈ ਗਾਠਿ ਕੋ ਦੁਖਿਤ ਸੁਨਾਰੋ ਦੀਨ ॥੧੩॥

chalayo darab dai gaatth ko dukhit sunaaro deen |13|

And the goldsmith taking his baggage went away in distress.(l3)

ਛਲ ਰੂਪ ਛੈਲੀ ਸਦਾ ਛਕੀ ਰਹਤ ਛਿਤ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

chhal roop chhailee sadaa chhakee rehat chhit maeh |

A woman laden with vile Chritars remains vile-proof.

ਅਛਲ ਛਲਤ ਛਿਤਪਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਛਲੀ ਕੌਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧੪॥

achhal chhalat chhitapatin ko chhalee kauan te jaeh |14|

One who can deceive the rulers, cannot be swindled.(l4)(1)
