ਗਉੜੀ ॥

ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਮਰੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਐਸੇ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥

jeevat marai marai fun jeevai aise sun samaaeaa |

One who remains dead while yet alive, will live even after death; thus he merges into the Primal Void of the Absolute Lord.

ਅੰਜਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਿ ਰਹੀਐ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਭਵਜਲਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

anjan maeh niranjan raheeai bahurr na bhavajal paaeaa |1|

Remaining pure in the midst of impurity, he will never again fall into the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਐਸਾ ਖੀਰੁ ਬਿਲੋਈਐ ॥

mere raam aisaa kheer biloeeai |

O my Lord, this is the milk to be churned.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਓਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

guramat manooaa asathir raakhahu in bidh amrit peeoeeai |1| rahaau |

Through the Guru's Teachings, hold your mind steady and stable, and in this way, drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਾਣਿ ਬਜਰ ਕਲ ਛੇਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਆ ਪਦੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥

gur kai baan bajar kal chhedee pragattiaa pad paragaasaa |

The Guru's arrow has pierced the hard core of this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, and the state of enlightenment has dawned.

ਸਕਤਿ ਅਧੇਰ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਚੂਕਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਬਾਸਾ ॥੨॥

sakat adher jevarree bhram chookaa nihachal siv ghar baasaa |2|

In the darkness of Maya, I mistook the rope for the snake, but that is over, and now I dwell in the eternal home of the Lord. ||2||

ਤਿਨਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਣੈ ਧਨਖੁ ਚਢਾਈਐ ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਭਾਈ ॥

tin bin baanai dhanakh chadtaaeeai ihu jag bedhiaa bhaaee |

Maya has drawn her bow without an arrow, and has pierced this world, O Siblings of Destiny.

ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਬੂਡੀ ਪਵਨੁ ਝੁਲਾਵੈ ਡੋਰਿ ਰਹੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥੩॥

deh dis booddee pavan jhulaavai ddor rahee liv laaee |3|

The drowning person is blown around in the ten directions by the wind, but I hold tight to the string of the Lord's Love. ||3||

ਉਨਮਨਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਭਾਗੀ ॥

aunaman manooaa sun samaanaa dubidhaa duramat bhaagee |

The disturbed mind has been absorbed in the Lord; duality and evil-mindedness have run away.

ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਨਭਉ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੬॥

kahu kabeer anbhau ik dekhiaa raam naam liv laagee |4|2|46|

Says Kabeer, I have seen the One Lord, the Fearless One; I am attuned to the Name of the Lord. ||4||2||46||
