ਸਫਲਿਉ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਫਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ॥

safaliau birakh suhaavarraa har safal amritaa |

The Lord is the most beautiful fruit tree, bearing fruits of Ambrosial Nectar.

ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਉਨੑ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਵੰਞੈ ਘਿਤਾ ॥

man lochai una milan kau kiau vanyai ghitaa |

My mind longs to meet Him; how can I ever find Him?

ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਜਿਤਾ ॥

varanaa chihanaa baaharaa ohu agam ajitaa |

He has no color or form; He is inaccessible and unconquerable.

ਓਹੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਖੋਲੑੈ ਭਿਤਾ ॥

ohu piaaraa jeea kaa jo kholai bhitaa |

I love Him with all my soul; He opens the door for me.

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥

sevaa karee tusaarreea mai dasihu mitaa |

I shall serve you forever, if you tell me of my Friend.

ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥

kurabaanee vanyaa vaaranai bale bal kitaa |

I am a sacrifice, a dedicated, devoted sacrifice to Him.

ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥

dasan sant piaariaa sunahu laae chitaa |

The Beloved Saints tell us, to listen with our consciousness.

ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ॥੧੯॥

jis likhiaa naanak daas tis naau amrit satigur ditaa |19|

One who has such pre-ordained destiny, O slave Nanak, is blessed with the Ambrosial Name by the True Guru. ||19||
