ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਮ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਅਬ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਲੀਨ ਮੈ ਖੇਲ ਮਚਈਯੈ ॥
har sang kahiyo im gvaarin ke ab kunj galeen mai khel macheeyai |
Krishna said to gopis, “Now the amorous play be performed in alcoves and streets
ਨਾਚਤ ਖੇਲਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਸੁ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਯੌ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗੀਤ ਬਸਈਯੈ ॥
naachat khelat bhaat bhalee su kahiyo yau sundar geet baseeyai |
While dancing and playing, charming songs may be sung
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹੀਏ ਮਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਖੁਸੀ ਸੁਨੀਯੈ ਉਠਿ ਕੇ ਸੋਊ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਈਯੈ ॥
jaa ke hee man hot khusee suneeyai utth ke soaoo kaaraj keeyai |
The work on doing which the mind is pleased, the same work should be done
ਤੀਰ ਨਦੀ ਹਮਰੀ ਸਿਖ ਲੈ ਸੁਖ ਆਪਨ ਦੈ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਖ ਦਈਯੈ ॥੬੫੫॥
teer nadee hamaree sikh lai sukh aapan dai ham hoon sukh deeyai |655|
Whatever you had done under my instruction n the bank of the river, enjoy yourselves in the same way, also imparting the pleasure to me.655.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਆਇਸੁ ਮਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਲੀਨ ਮੈ ਖੇਲ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
kaanrah ko aaeis maan treeyaa brij kunj galeen mai khel machaayo |
ਗਾਇ ਉਠੀ ਸੋਊ ਗੀਤ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਭਾਯੋ ॥
gaae utthee soaoo geet bhalee bidh jo har ke man bheetar bhaayo |
Obeying Krishna, the women began the performance of the amorous play in the streets and chamber of Braja, and began to sing songs which Krishna liked
ਦੇਵ ਗੰਧਾਰਿ ਅਉ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੋਊ ਭਾਖਿ ਖਿਆਲ ਬਸਾਯੋ ॥
dev gandhaar aau sudh malaar bikhai soaoo bhaakh khiaal basaayo |
They sand in the musical modes of Gandhar and Shuddh Malhar
ਰੀਝ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਪੁਰਿ ਮੰਡਲ ਅਉ ਸੁਰ ਮੰਡਲ ਪੈ ਜਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੬੫੬॥
reejh rahiyo pur manddal aau sur manddal pai jin hoon sun paayo |656|
Whosoever heard it on the earth or in heaven was fascinated.656.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਿਰ ਪੈ ਧਰ ਕੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੁੰਜਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਭ ਭਾਤਿ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥
kaanrah kahiyo sir pai dhar kai mil kunjan mai subh bhaat gee hai |
All the gopis met Krishna in alcoves
ਕੰਜ ਮੁਖੀ ਤਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਸਭ ਰੂਪ ਬਿਖੈ ਮਨੋ ਮੈਨ ਮਈ ਹੈ ॥
kanj mukhee tan kanchan se sabh roop bikhai mano main mee hai |
Their faces are like gold and the whole figure is inebriated with lust
ਖੇਲ ਬਿਖੈ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਸਭ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਆਗੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਐਸੇ ਧਈ ਹੈ ॥
khel bikhai ras kee so treeyaa sabh sayaam ke aage hvai aise dhee hai |
ਯੌ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਗਜ ਗਾਮਨਿ ਕਾਮਿਨ ਰੂਪ ਭਈ ਹੈ ॥੬੫੭॥
yau kab sayaam kahai upamaa gaj gaaman kaamin roop bhee hai |657|
In the play, the women are running in front of Krishna and the poet says that all are extremely beautiful damsels with the gait of the elephants.657.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਛੁਹਿਯੋ ਚਹੈ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੌ ਸੋਊ ਭਾਗ ਚਲੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੇਤ ਛੁਹਾਈ ॥
kaanrah chhuhiyo chahai gvaarin kau soaoo bhaag chalai nahee det chhuhaaee |
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਰਤਿ ਕੇਲ ਸਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਦੇਤ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
jiau mriganee apane pat ko rat kel samai nahee det milaaee |
The gopis are not permitting Krishna to touch that part of the body, which he wants to touch, just like the doe slipping away from the deer during the sex-play
ਕੁੰਜਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਤੀਰ ਨਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੁ ਫਿਰੈ ਤਹ ਧਾਈ ॥
kunjan bheetar teer nadee brikhabhaan sutaa su firai teh dhaaee |
ਠਉਰ ਤਹਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਖੇਲ ਮਚਾਈ ॥੬੫੮॥
tthaur tahaa kab sayaam kahai ih bhaat so sayaam joo khel machaaee |658|
On the bank of the river, within the alcoves, Radha is moving speedily hither and thither and according to the poet, in this way, Krishna has raised a tumult about the play.658.
ਰਾਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਛਠ ਮਾਸਨ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਉਜਲ ਪੈ ਸੋਊ ਅਰਧ ਅੰਧੇਰੀ ॥
raat karee chhatth maasan kee at ujal pai soaoo aradh andheree |
The bright night of six months now changed into dark night alongwith the tumult about the play
ਤਾਹੀ ਸਮੈ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸਭੈ ਹਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਘੇਰੀ ॥
taahee samai tih tthaur bikhai kab sayaam sabhai har gvaarin gheree |
At the same time Krishna besieged all the gopis
ਨੈਨ ਕੀ ਕੋਰ ਕਟਾਛਨ ਪੇਖਤ ਝੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੀ ਇਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ਚੇਰੀ ॥
nain kee kor kattaachhan pekhat jhoom giree ik hvai gee cheree |
Someone got intoxicated on seeing the side-glanced of his eyes and someone immediately became his slaver
ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜੀਯ ਮੈ ਸਰ ਸੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਜਿਮ ਘਾਵਤ ਹੇਰੀ ॥੬੫੯॥
yau upajee upamaa jeey mai sar so mriganee jim ghaavat heree |659|
They were moving like the does in a group towards the tank.659.
ਫੇਰ ਉਠੈ ਉਠਤੇ ਹੀ ਭਗੈ ਜਦੁਰਾ ਕੌ ਨ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਦੇਤ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
fer utthai utthate hee bhagai jaduraa kau na gvaarin det milaaee |
Krishna got up and ran, but still the gopis could not be caught by him
ਪਾਛੈ ਪਰੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਚੜਿ ਕੈ ਰਸ ਕੈ ਹਯ ਊਪਰ ਧਾਈ ॥
paachhai parai tin ke har joo charr kai ras kai hay aoopar dhaaee |
He pursued them riding the steed of his passion
ਰਾਧੇ ਕੋ ਨੈਨਨ ਕੇ ਸਰ ਸੰਗ ਬਧੈ ਮਨੋ ਭਉਹ ਕਮਾਨ ਚੜਾਈ ॥
raadhe ko nainan ke sar sang badhai mano bhauh kamaan charraaee |
ਝੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੈ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਹਾ ਮਨੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਈ ॥੬੬੦॥
jhoom girai dharanee par so mriganee mrigahaa mano maar giraaee |660|
Radha was pierced by the arrows of his eyes discharged from the bow of his eyebrows and she has fallen down on the earth like a doe fallen down by a hunter.660.
ਸੁਧਿ ਲੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਕੁੰਜਨ ਮੈ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
sudh lai brikhabhaan sutaa tab hee har agraj kunjan mai utth bhaagai |
On regarding consciousness, Radha began to run in front of Krishan in those street-chambers
ਰਸ ਸੋ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੀਆ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਪਿਛੂਆਨ ਸੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
ras so jaduraae mahaa raseea tab hee tih ke pichhooaan so laagai |
Great aesthete Krishna, then closely followed her
ਮੋਛ ਲਹੈ ਨਰ ਸੋ ਛਿਨ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਜੋ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੈ ॥
mochh lahai nar so chhin mai har ke ih kautuk jo anuraagai |
ਯੌ ਉਪਜੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਜਿਮ ਘਾਇਲ ਸ੍ਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਗੈ ॥੬੬੧॥
yau upajai upamaa man mai mriganee jim ghaaeil svaar ke aagai |661|
On seeing this amorous play, the beings were redeemed and Radha appeared like a doe moving in front of a horse-rider.661.
ਅਤਿ ਭਾਗਤ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਲੀਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਕੋ ਗਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
at bhaagat kunj galeen bikhai brikhabhaan sutaa ko gahe har aise |
ਕੈਧੌ ਧਵਾਇ ਧਵਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਹਾਰਤ ਮਾਨਕ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
kaidhau dhavaae dhavaae mahaa jamunaa tatt haarat maanak jaise |
Krishna caught Radha running after her in the alcoves like someone wearing pearls after washing them on the bank of Yamuna
ਪੈ ਚੜਿ ਕੈ ਰਸ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਨੈਨਨ ਭਉਹ ਤਨਾਇ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਤ ਲੈਸੇ ॥
pai charr kai ras hai man nainan bhauh tanaae kai maarat laise |
It appears that Krishna as god of love is discharging the arrows of passionate love by stretching his eyebrows
ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਿਮ ਸ੍ਵਾਰ ਮਨੋ ਜਿਤ ਲੇਤ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਕਹੁ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੬੬੨॥
yau upajee upamaa jim svaar mano jit let mrigee kahu jaise |662|
The poet describing this spectacle figuratively says that Krishna caught Radha like a horse-rider in the forest catching a doe.662.
ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਜੂ ਬੋਲਤ ਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
geh kai brikhabhaan sutaa jaduraae joo bolat taa sang amrit baanee |
ਭਾਗਤ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
bhaagat kaahe ke het suno ham hoon te toon kiau sun gvaarin raanee |
After catching Radha, Krishna spoke these nectar-like sweet words to her, “O queen of gopis! Why are you running away from me?
ਕੰਜਮੁਖੀ ਤਨ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੋ ਹਮ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਬਾਤ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥
kanjamukhee tan kanchan so ham hvai man kee sabh baat pachhaanee |
“O thou of the face of lotus and body of gold! I have know the secret of your mind
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਕੀ ਮਨਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਨਿ ਖੋਜਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ॥੬੬੩॥
sayaam ke prem chhakee man sundar hvai ban khojat sayaam divaanee |663|
You are searching krishna in the forest intoxicated with the passion of love."663.
ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੋ ਨਿਹੁਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਨੀਚੇ ਰਹੀ ਅਖੀਆ ॥
brikhabhaan sutaa pikh gvaarin ko nihuraae kai neeche rahee akheea |
Seeing gopise with her Radha lowered down her eyes
ਮਨੋ ਯਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਭਾ ਸਭ ਛੀਨ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਮਨੋ ਇਹ ਕੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਪਖੀਆ ॥
mano yaa mrig bhaa sabh chheen lee ki mano ih kanjan kee pakheea |
She appeared to have lost the glory of her lotus-eyes
ਸਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੀ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਯੌ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ ਅਖੀਆ ॥
sam amrit kee has kai treeyaa yau bateeyaa har ke sang hai akheea |
Looking towards the eyes of Krishna
ਹਰਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਦੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਕੌ ਸੁ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸਖੀਆ ॥੬੬੪॥
har chhaadd dai mohi kahiyo ham kau su nihaarat hai sabh hee sakheea |664|
She said smilingly, "O Krishna, leave me, because all my companions are looking."664.
ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਨਹੀ ਛੋਰਤ ਤੋ ਕੌ ॥
sun kai har gvaarin kee bateeyaa ih bhaat kahiyo nahee chhorat to kau |
ਦੇਖਤ ਹੈ ਤੋ ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਪੈ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਸੰਕ ਨ ਮੋ ਕੌ ॥
dekhat hai to kahaa bhayo gvaarin pai in te kachhoo sank na mo kau |
Listening to the of Radha, Krishna said, "I sall not leave you, what then, if these gopis are looking, I do not fera them
ਅਉ ਹਮਰੀ ਰਸ ਖੇਲਨ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੀ ਨਹੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਲੋਕੋ ॥
aau hamaree ras khelan kee ih tthaur bikhai kee nahee sudh loko |
Do the people not know that this is our own arena of amorous play
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਮੋ ਸੋ ਬਿਬਾਦ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਡਰੈ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਨ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਤੂ ਕੋ ਕੌ ॥੬੬੫॥
kaahe kau mo so bibaad karai su ddarai in te bin hee su too ko kau |665|
You are quarrelling with me in vain and fearing them without cause."665.
ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਬਤੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਇਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
sun kai jaduraae kee baat treeyaa bateea har ke im sang uchaaree |
ਚਾਦਨੀ ਰਾਤਿ ਰਹੀ ਛਕਿ ਕੈ ਦਿਜੀਯੈ ਹਰਿ ਹੋਵਨ ਰੈਨ ਅੰਧਯਾਰੀ ॥
chaadanee raat rahee chhak kai dijeeyai har hovan rain andhayaaree |
Listening to the tallk of Krishna, Radha said, "O Krishna! Now the night is lit by the moon, let there be some darkness in the night
ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਹਮਹੂੰ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
sun kai hamahoon tumaree bateeyaa apane man mai ih bhaat bichaaree |
ਸੰਕ ਕਰੋ ਨਹੀ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਮਨੋ ਤੁਮ ਲਾਜ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੀ ॥੬੬੬॥
sank karo nahee gvaarin kee su mano tum laaj bidaa kar ddaaree |666|
I have also reflected in my mind after listening to your talk in respect of lit by the moon, let there gopis; and consider this that shyness has been completely bidden adrieu.666.
ਭਾਖਤ ਹੋ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਭਾਰੋ ॥
bhaakhat ho bateeyaa ham so has kai har kai at hee hit bhaaro |
ਮੁਸਕਾਤ ਹੈ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਹੇਰਿ ਉਤੈ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਹਮਰੋ ਇਹ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਸਾਰੋ ॥
musakaat hai gvaarin her utai pikh kai hamaro ih kautuk saaro |
O Krishna! You are talking to me here and there seeing the whole play, the gopis are smilingly;
ਛੋਰ ਦੈ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਬੁਧਿ ਅਕਾਮ ਕੀ ਧਾਰੋ ॥
chhor dai kaanrah kahiyo ham ko apane man budh akaam kee dhaaro |
ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਤੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਮੈ ਸੋ ਕਹੋ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਘਨੀ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਕ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥੬੬੭॥
taahee te to sang mai so kaho jaduraae ghanee tum sank bichaaro |667|
O Krishna! Accede to my request and leave me , and become desireless, O Krishna! I love you ,but still you are doubrful in your mind.667.
ਭੂਖ ਲਗੇ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਸਜਨੀ ਲਗਰਾ ਕਹੂੰ ਛੋਰਤ ਜਾਤ ਬਗੀ ਕੋ ॥
bhookh lage suneeai sajanee lagaraa kahoon chhorat jaat bagee ko |
ਤਾਤ ਕੀ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੁਨੀ ਤੈ ਕਥਾ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਨਹਿ ਛੋਰਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਕੋ ॥
taat kee sayaam sunee tai kathaa birahee neh chhorat preet lagee ko |
O Beloved! Does the monkey leave the fruit on becoming hungry?; in the same manner the lover does not leave the beloved,
ਛੋਰਤ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਕੁਟਵਾਰ ਕਿਧੌ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਰ ਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਠਗੀ ਕੋ ॥
chhorat hai su nahee kuttavaar kidhau geh kai pur hoon kee tthagee ko |
“And the police officer does not leave the cheat therefore I am not leaving you
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਛੋਰਤ ਹਉ ਤੁਮ ਕੌ ਕਿ ਸੁਨਿਯੋ ਕਹੂੰ ਛੋਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਕੋ ॥੬੬੮॥
taa te na chhorat hau tum kau ki suniyo kahoon chhorat singh mrigee ko |668|
Have you ever heard about a lion leaving the doe?”668.
ਕਹੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਇਹ ਬਾਲ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਜੁ ਥੀ ਅਤਿ ਜੋਬਨ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਭੀਨੀ ॥
kahee bateeyaa ih baal ke sang ju thee at joban ke ras bheenee |
Krishna thus said to that damsel, saturated with the passion of her youth
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਅਰੁ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਹੁਤੀ ਜੁ ਨਵੀਨੀ ॥
chandrabhagaa ar gvaarin te at roop ke beech hutee ju naveenee |
Radha looked splendid in the new posture amongst Chandarbhaga and other gopis:
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਕੋ ਗਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਨੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਯਾ ਲਖਿ ਲੀਨੀ ॥
jiau mrigaraaj mrigee ko gahai kab nai upamaa bidh yaa lakh leenee |
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਤਬੈ ਕਰਵਾ ਗਹ ਕੈ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੋਊ ਬਸਿ ਕੀਨੀ ॥੬੬੯॥
kaanrah tabai karavaa geh kai apane bal sang soaoo bas keenee |669|
Just as a deer catches a doe, the poet says, Krishna, catching the wrist of Radha, subdued her with his strength.669.
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਸਿ ਵਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਐਸੇ ਕਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
kar kai bas vaa sang aise kahee kab sayaam kahai jaduraae kahaanee |
ਪੈ ਰਸ ਰੀਤਹਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੀ ਸਮ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
pai ras reeteh kee at hee ju hutee sam maanahu amrit baanee |
In this way , subduing Radha, Krishna extended further the story of his passionate love and with his nectar-like words he led the tradition of passionate love to the extreme
ਤੇਰੋ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਗਰੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਨਾਰਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ॥
tero kahaa bigarai brij naar kahiyo ih bhaat sayaam gumaanee |
ਅਉਰ ਸਭੈ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਚੇਰਿਨ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਤੂ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੬੭੦॥
aaur sabhai treey cherin hai brikhabhaan sutaa tin mai too raanee |670|
The proud Krishna said, “O Radha! what harm will come to you in this? All the women are your servants and you are the only queen amongst them.”670.
ਜਹਾ ਚੰਦ ਕੀ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਛਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਪਾਤ ਚੰਬੇਲੀ ਕੇ ਸੇਜ ਡਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
jahaa chand kee chaadanee chhaajat hai jahaa paat chanbelee ke sej ddahee hai |
Where there is moonshine and a bed of the flowers of jasmine
ਸੇਤ ਜਹਾ ਗੁਲ ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਢਿਗ ਆਇ ਬਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
set jahaa gul raajat hai jih ke jamunaa dtig aae bahee hai |
Where there are white flowers and Yamuna is flowing nearby
ਤਾਹੀ ਸਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਧੇ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੀ ਹੈ ॥
taahee samai har raadhe grasee upamaa tih kee kab sayaam kahee hai |
There Krishna embraced Radha
ਸੇਤ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਤਨ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਹਰੀ ਮਨੋ ਸੋਮ ਕਲਾ ਇਹ ਰਾਹੁ ਗਹੀ ਹੈ ॥੬੭੧॥
set treeyaa tan sayaam haree mano som kalaa ih raahu gahee hai |671|
The white-coloured Radha and the black-coloured Krishna together appear like the moonlight coming on this path.671.
ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਫਿਰਿ ਛੋਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਸੋਊ ਕੁੰਜ ਗਲੀ ਕੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਨ ਮੈ ॥
tih ko har joo fir chhor dayo soaoo kunj galee ke bikhai ban mai |
ਫਿਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਸੋਊ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੀ ਅਤਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ॥
fir gvaarin mai soaoo jaae milee at aanand kai apune tan mai |
Then Krishna left her in the alcove and in great delight she went to meet the other gopis
ਅਤਿ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਹੈ ਕਹੀ ਉਪਜੀ ਜੁ ਕੋਊ ਕਬਿ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥
at taa chhab kee upamaa hai kahee upajee ju koaoo kab kai man mai |
ਮਨੋ ਕੇਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਵਾਇ ਮਿਲੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਕੋ ਮਨੋ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀਯਾ ਬਨ ਮੈ ॥੬੭੨॥
mano kehar te chhuttavaae milee mriganee ko mano mrigeeyaa ban mai |672|
Describing the beauty of that spectacle, the poet says that she went to meet the other gopis like a doe, escaping the clutches of a lion, joins the herd of deers.672.
ਫਿਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਖੇਲ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
fir jaae kai gvaarin mai har joo at hee ik sundar khel machaayo |
Krishna began to play a charming play amongst the gopis
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਹੂੰ ਕੇ ਹਾਥ ਪੈ ਹਾਥ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਸਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
chandrabhagaa hoon ke haath pai haath dhariyo at sahee man mai sukh paayo |
He placed his hand on the hand of Chandarbhaga, by which she experienced extreme pleasure
ਗਾਵਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਗੀਤ ਜੋਊ ਉਨ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਭਾਯੋ ॥
gaavat gvaarin hai sabh geet joaoo un kai man bheetar bhaayo |
The gopis began to sing their favourite song
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੋਕ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਸਰਾਯੋ ॥੬੭੩॥
sayaam kahai man aanand kai man ko fun sok sabhai bisaraayo |673|
The poet Shyam says that they were extremely pleased and all the sorrow of their mind ended.673.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਚਤ ਨਾਚਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਹਸਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
har naachat naachat gvaarin mai has chandrabhagaa hoon kee or nihaariyo |
During his dance, Krishna saw smilingly towards Chandarbhaga
ਸੋਊ ਹਸੀ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਏ ਹਸੇ ਜਦੁਰਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਬਚਨਾ ਹੈ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
soaoo hasee it te e hase jaduraa tih so bachanaa hai uchaariyo |
She laughed from this side and from that side Krishna began to talk smilingly with her
ਮੇਰੋ ਮਹਾ ਹਿਤ ਹੈ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਇਹ ਹੇਰਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
mero mahaa hit hai tum so brikhabhaan sutaa ih her bichaariyo |
ਆਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੇਤ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਮ ਊਪਰ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤ ਬਿਸਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੬੭੪॥
aan triyaa sang het kariyo ham aoopar te har chet bisaariyo |674|
Seeing this Radha thought that Krishna was then absorbed in love with another woman and as such his love with her had ended.674.
ਹਰਿ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਆਨਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
har raadhikaa aanan dekhat hee apane man mai ih bhaat uchaariyo |
Seeing the face of Krishna, Radha said in her own mind, “Krishna has now been subdued by other women
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਏ ਬਸਿ ਅਉਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਪੈ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਨ ਹੀ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sayaam bhe bas aaur triyaa tih te at pai man maan hee dhaariyo |
Therefore he does not remember me now with his heart”
ਆਨੰਦ ਥੋ ਜਿਤਨੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਤਨੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਖਿ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
aanand tho jitano man mai titano ih bhaakh bidaa kar ddaariyo |
Saying this, she bade farewell to bliss from her mind
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਚੰਦ ਦੁਤੈ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਤੇ ਘਟ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੬੭੫॥
chandrabhagaa mukh chand dutai sabh gvaarin te ghatt mohi bichaariyo |675|
She thought that the face of Chandarbhaga is like moon for Krishna and he loves her the least out of all the gopis.675.
ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋਊ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
keh kai ih bhaat soaoo tab hee apane man mai ih baat bichaaree |
ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਹਿ ਸੋ ਤਜਿ ਖੇਲ ਸਭੈ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੀ ॥
preet karee har aaneh so taj khel sabhai utth dhaam sidhaaree |
Saying thus, she ruminated in her mind and thinking that Krishna then loved someone else, she started for her home
ਐਸ ਕਰੀ ਗਨਤੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
ais karee ganatee man mai upamaa tih kee kab sayaam uchaaree |
ਤ੍ਰੀਯਨ ਬੀਚ ਚਲੈਗੀ ਕਥਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥਿ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥੬੭੬॥
treeyan beech chalaigee kathaa brikhabhaan sutaa brijanaath bisaaree |676|
The poet Shyam says, “Now it will be talked among women that Krishna has forgotton Radha.”676.
