ਜੋਬਨ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਾਹਿ ਜਬ ਭਯੋ ॥
joban adhik taeh jab bhayo |
ਲੈ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਗੰਗਾ ਪਿਤੁ ਗਯੋ ॥
lai taa ko gangaa pit gayo |
When she attained full maturity, her father though of taking her to (River) Ganga (for pilgrimage),
ਬਡੇ ਬਡੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਤਹ ਐਹੈ ॥
badde badde raajaa teh aihai |
ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਭਲੋ ਹੇਰਿ ਤਹ ਦੈਹੈ ॥੩॥
tin mai bhalo her teh daihai |3|
Where all the big Rajas used- to come, and, perhaps, they would come across a suitable match for her.(3)
ਚਲੇ ਚਲੇ ਗੰਗਾ ਪਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
chale chale gangaa peh aae |
ਬੰਧੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਸੰਗ ਲ︀ਯਾਏ ॥
bandh sutaa isatrin sang layaae |
Walking and walking they reached Ganga, along with a number of ladies.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਾਨ੍ਰਹਵਿ ਕੋ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
sree jaanrahav ko darasan keeno |
ਪੂਰਬ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੪॥
poorab paap bidaa kar deeno |4|
They paid their respects to the Ganga to cast off their profanities of the life theretofore.( 4)
ਬਡੇ ਬਡੇ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਤਹ ਆਏ ॥
badde badde bhoopat teh aae |
ਤਵਨਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਸਕਲ ਦਿਖਾਏ ॥
tavan kuar ko sakal dikhaae |
There had come many a magnanimous Rajas who were presented to the princess.
ਇਨ ਪਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਭਨ ਪਰ ਕਰਿਯੈ ॥
ein par drisatt sabhan par kariyai |
ਜੋ ਜਿਯ ਰੁਚੈ ਤਿਸੀ ਕੌ ਬਰਿਯੈ ॥੫॥
jo jiy ruchai tisee kau bariyai |5|
She was told to have a look on them; whomsoever she liked, she would be betrothed to.(5)
