ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਯ ਕੀ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਲਈ ਮੈ ਲਘੁ ਕੋ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਉ ॥

bin piy kee aagayaa lee mai lagh ko neh jaau |

That woman presented the excuse that she would not go out, even to urinate without seeking husband’s permission.

ਕੋਟਿ ਕਸਟ ਤਨ ਪੈ ਸਹੋ ਪਿਯ ਕੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਮਾਉ ॥੧੦॥

kott kasatt tan pai saho piy ko kahiyo kamaau |10|

(She had pronounced,) ‘I may have to bear insufferable ailments but will always obey my beloved husband.’(10)

ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਲ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਹ ਦੀਨ ॥

sunat bachan moorakh mugal aagayaa triy keh deen |

The foolish Mughal had permitted his wife.

ਰੀਝਿ ਗਯੋ ਜੜ ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਕ︀ਯੋ ਨ ਕਛੁ ਛਲ ਚੀਨ ॥੧੧॥

reejh gayo jarr bain sun sakayo na kachh chhal cheen |11|

That senseless one was satisfied with his wife’s talk and did not comprehend her trickery.(11)

ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਪਿਯ ਕੀ ਆਗ︀ਯਾ ਪਾਇ ॥

sunat bachan triy utth chalee piy kee aagayaa paae |

Obtaining husband’s consent the woman had gone, delightfully, to

ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨੀ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਕ ਸੋ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੧੨॥

rat maanee sut banik so hridai harakh upajaae |12|

Romanticise with the son of the Shah.(12)

ਪਰੈ ਆਪਦਾ ਕੈਸਿਯੈ ਕੋਟ ਕਸਟ ਸਹਿ ਲੇਤ ॥

parai aapadaa kaisiyai kott kasatt seh let |

The wise-men may be in big difficulties and they can be facing great many discomforts,

ਤਊ ਸੁਘਰ ਨਰ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਅਪਨੋ ਦੇਤ ॥੧੩॥

taoo sughar nar isatriyan bhed na apano det |13|

But they never divulge their secrets to women.(13)(1)
