ਧਰਤੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਫੁਲੀ ਵਾਸੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਚੰਗੇਰੀ ।

dharatee paanee vaas hai fulee vaas nivaas changeree |

Earth resides in water and fragrance resides in flowers.

ਤਿਲ ਫੁਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਤਿਤੁ ਪੁਨੀਤੁ ਫੁਲੇਲੁ ਘਵੇਰੀ ।

til fulaan de sang mil patit puneet fulel ghaveree |

The degraded sesame seed mixing with the essence of flowers becomes sanctified as fragrant scent.

ਅਖੀ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਅੰਧੇ ਤਨਿ ਅੰਧੁ ਅੰਧੇਰੀ ।

akhee dekh anher kar man andhe tan andh andheree |

The blind mind even after beholding through the physical eyes, behaves like a creature living in darkness,i,e. man is spiritually blind though he beholds physically.

ਛਿਅ ਰੁਤ ਬਾਰਹ ਮਾਹ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਇਕੁ ਨ ਘੁਘੂ ਹੇਰੀ ।

In all the six seasons and twelve months, the same one sun operates but the owl does not see it.
