ਨਟੂਆ ਭੇਖ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੈਸਾ ਹੈ ਓਹੁ ਤੈਸਾ ਰੇ ॥

nattooaa bhekh dikhaavai bahu bidh jaisaa hai ohu taisaa re |

The actor displays himself in many disguises, but he remains just as he is.

ਅਨਿਕ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਓ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸੁਖਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥

anik jon bhramio bhram bheetar sukheh naahee paravesaa re |1|

The soul wanders through countless incarnations in doubt, but it does not come to dwell in peace. ||1||

ਸਾਜਨ ਸੰਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਨੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥

saajan sant hamaare meetaa bin har har aaneetaa re |

O Saints, my friends and companions, without the Lord, Har, Har, you shall perish.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਇਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੀਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

saadhasang mil har gun gaae ihu janam padaarath jeetaa re |1| rahaau |

Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and win this precious treasure of human life. ||1||Pause||

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਕੀਨੑੀ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਵਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥

trai gun maaeaa braham kee keenaee kahahu kavan bidh tareeai re |

God has created Maya of the three qualities; tell me, how can it be crossed over?

ਘੂਮਨ ਘੇਰ ਅਗਾਹ ਗਾਖਰੀ ਗੁਰਸਬਦੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੀਐ ਰੇ ॥੨॥

ghooman gher agaah gaakharee gurasabadee paar utareeai re |2|

The whirlpool is awesome and unfathomable; only through the Word of the Guru's Shabad is one carried across. ||2||

ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ਤਤੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨਾ ਰੇ ॥

khojat khojat khoj beechaario tat naanak ihu jaanaa re |

Searching and searching endlessly, seeking and deliberating, Nanak has realized the true essence of reality.

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਨਿਰਮੋਲਕੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਪਤੀਆਨਾ ਰੇ ॥੩॥੧॥੧੩੦॥

simarat naam nidhaan niramolak man maanak pateeaanaa re |3|1|130|

Meditating on the invaluable treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the jewel of the mind is satisfied. ||3||1||130||
