ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਨੀਚ ਕੀਟ ਕਉ ਰਾਜ ॥

khin meh neech keett kau raaj |

In an instant, the lowly worm is transformed into a king.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥

paarabraham gareeb nivaaj |

The Supreme Lord God is the Protector of the humble.

ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

jaa kaa drisatt kachhoo na aavai |

Even one who has never been seen at all,

ਤਿਸੁ ਤਤਕਾਲ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵੈ ॥

tis tatakaal deh dis pragattaavai |

becomes instantly famous in the ten directions.

ਜਾ ਕਉ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰੈ ਬਖਸੀਸ ॥

jaa kau apunee karai bakhasees |

And that one upon whom He bestows His blessings

ਤਾ ਕਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਨ ਗਨੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥

taa kaa lekhaa na ganai jagadees |

the Lord of the world does not hold him to his account.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥

jeeo pindd sabh tis kee raas |

Soul and body are all His property.

ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ॥

ghatt ghatt pooran braham pragaas |

Each and every heart is illuminated by the Perfect Lord God.

ਅਪਨੀ ਬਣਤ ਆਪਿ ਬਨਾਈ ॥

apanee banat aap banaaee |

He Himself fashioned His own handiwork.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵੈ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੪॥

naanak jeevai dekh baddaaee |4|

Nanak lives by beholding His greatness. ||4||
