Basant, Fourth Mehl:

ਰੈਣਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਦੁਇ ਸਦੇ ਪਏ ॥

rain dinas due sade pe |

Day and night, the two calls are sent out.

ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਿ ਲਏ ॥੧॥

man har simarahu ant sadaa rakh le |1|

O mortal, meditate in remembrance on the Lord, who protects you forever, and saves you in the end. ||1||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥

har har chet sadaa man mere |

Concentrate forever on the Lord, Har, Har, O my mind.

ਸਭੁ ਆਲਸੁ ਦੂਖ ਭੰਜਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sabh aalas dookh bhanj prabh paaeaa guramat gaavahu gun prabh kere |1| rahaau |

God the Destroyer of all depression and suffering is found, through the Guru's Teachings, singing the Glorious Praises of God. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨਮੁਖ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੁਏ ॥

manamukh fir fir haumai mue |

The self-willed manmukhs die of their egotism, over and over again.

ਕਾਲਿ ਦੈਤਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਗਏ ॥੨॥

kaal dait sanghaare jam pur ge |2|

They are destroyed by Death's demons, and they must go to the City of Death. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

guramukh har har har liv laage |

The Gurmukhs are lovingly attached to the Lord, Har, Har, Har.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੋਊ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ॥੩॥

janam maran doaoo dukh bhaage |3|

Their pains of both birth and death are taken away. ||3||

ਭਗਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥

bhagat janaa kau har kirapaa dhaaree |

The Lord showers His Mercy on His humble devotees.

ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੨॥

gur naanak tutthaa miliaa banavaaree |4|2|

Guru Nanak has shown mercy to me; I have met the Lord, the Lord of the forest. ||4||2||
