ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Wadahans, Third Mehl:

ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਖੁ ਉਜਲਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

sohaaganee sadaa mukh ujalaa gur kai sehaj subhaae |

The faces of the happy soul-brides are radiant forever; through the Guru, they are peacefully poised.

ਸਦਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਰਾਵਹਿ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥

sadaa pir raaveh aapanaa vichahu aap gavaae |1|

They enjoy their Husband Lord constantly, eradicating their ego from within. ||1||

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥

mere man too har har naam dhiaae |

O my mind, meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਸਤਗੁਰਿ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

satagur mo kau har deea bujhaae |1| rahaau |

The True Guru has led me to understand the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਦੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਖਰੀਆ ਬਿਲਲਾਦੀਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥

dohaaganee khareea bilalaadeea tinaa mehal na paae |

The abandoned brides cry out in their suffering; they do not attain the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਕਰੂਪੀ ਦੂਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥

doojai bhaae karoopee dookh paaveh aagai jaae |2|

In the love of duality, they appear so ugly; they suffer in pain as they go to the world beyond. ||2||

ਗੁਣਵੰਤੀ ਨਿਤ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਇ ॥

gunavantee nit gun ravai hiradai naam vasaae |

The virtuous soul-bride constantly chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord; she enshrines the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within her heart.

ਅਉਗਣਵੰਤੀ ਕਾਮਣੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥੩॥

aauganavantee kaamanee dukh laagai bilalaae |3|

The unvirtuous woman suffers, and cries out in pain. ||3||

ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਭਤਾਰੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

sabhanaa kaa bhataar ek hai suaamee kahanaa kichhoo na jaae |

The One Lord and Master is the Husband Lord of all; His Praises cannot be expressed.

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਕ ਕੀਤਿਅਨੁ ਨਾਮੇ ਲਇਅਨੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੪॥

naanak aape vek keetian naame leian laae |4|4|

O Nanak, He has separated some from Himself, while others are to His Name. ||4||4||
