ਸੁਨ ਤਸਕਰ ਠਗ ਮੈ ਕਹੋ ਹੌ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥

sun tasakar tthag mai kaho hau taahee kee naar |

‘Listen, you, the thief and the swindler, I am the woman of one,

ਜੋ ਛਲ ਬਲ ਜਾਨੈ ਘਨੋ ਜਾ ਮੈ ਬੀਰਜ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੯॥

jo chhal bal jaanai ghano jaa mai beeraj apaar |9|

‘Who is most clever and who maintains greater intellect by dint of his semen.’(9)

ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਾਲ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਾ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬਚਨ ਮੁਰ ਏਕ ॥

bahur baal aise kahaa sunahu bachan mur ek |

Then she added, ‘Listen carefully what I say,

ਸੋ ਮੋ ਕੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਹੁਨਰ ਅਨੇਕ ॥੧੦॥

so mo ko isatree karai jih meh hunar anek |10|

‘One who wants to call me as his woman must show extraordinary intelligence.’(10)
