Gauree Maalaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਾਧਉ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਕਹੀਐ ॥

maadhau har har har mukh kaheeai |

O Lord, I chant Your Name, Har, Har, Har.

ਹਮ ਤੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਿਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ham te kachhoo na hovai suaamee jiau raakhahu tiau raheeai |1| rahaau |

I cannot do anything by myself, O Lord and Master. As You keep me, so I remain. ||1||Pause||

ਕਿਆ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਕਿ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਇਸੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥

kiaa kichh karai ki karanaihaaraa kiaa is haath bichaare |

What can the mere mortal do? What is in the hands of this poor creature?

ਜਿਤੁ ਤੁਮ ਲਾਵਹੁ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਖਸਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥

jit tum laavahu tith hee laagaa pooran khasam hamaare |1|

As You attach us, so we are attached, O my Perfect Lord and Master. ||1||

ਕਰਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਏਕ ਰੂਪ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥

karahu kripaa sarab ke daate ek roop liv laavahu |

Take pity on me, O Great Giver of all, that I may enshrine love for Your Form alone.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਹਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥੭॥੧੬੫॥

naanak kee benantee har peh apunaa naam japaavahu |2|7|165|

Nanak offers this prayer to the Lord, that he may chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||7||165||
