ਹੁਕਮੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਰਤਦੀ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਬਾਈ ।

hukamai andar varatadee sabh srisatt sabaaee |

Egoism pervades the affairs of the whole Universe.

ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੀਤੀਅਨੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਹੁਕਮ ਮਨਾਈ ।

eik aape guramukh keeteean jin hukam manaaee |

Those are the only Gurmukhs (the ones adopting the Guru's way), who bow to the celestial order.

ਇਕਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮ ਭੁਲਾਇਅਨੁ ਦੂਜੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਈ ।

eik aape bharam bhulaaeian doojai chit laaee |

But the rest, forgetting why they came, are drowned in falsehood and duality.

ਇਕਨਾ ਨੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਬਖਸਿਅਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ।

eikanaa no naam bakhasian hoe aap sahaaee |

Those, who have the blessing of God's Name, have His own support.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਕਾਰਥਾ ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਦੁਹੇਲਾ ।

guramukh janam sakaarathaa manamukhee duhelaa |

The Gurmukh enjoys the worth of his birth right whereas the egocentric remains in duality.
