Third Mehl:
ਭਿੰਨੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਵੁਠਾ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਇ ॥
bhinee rain chamakiaa vutthaa chhahabar laae |
The night is wet with dew; lightning flashes, and the rain pours down in torrents.
ਜਿਤੁ ਵੁਠੈ ਅਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਜਾਂ ਸਹੁ ਕਰੇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥
jit vutthai an dhan bahut aoopajai jaan sahu kare rajaae |
Food and wealth are produced in abundance when it rains, if it is the Will of God.
ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਧੈ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀਐ ਜੀਆਂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
jit khaadhai man tripateeai jeean jugat samaae |
Consuming it, the minds of His creatures are satisfied, and they adopt the lifestyle of the way.
ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਕਾ ਖੇਲੁ ਹੈ ਕਦੇ ਆਵੈ ਕਦੇ ਜਾਇ ॥
eihu dhan karate kaa khel hai kade aavai kade jaae |
This wealth is the play of the Creator Lord. Sometimes it comes, and sometimes it goes.
ਗਿਆਨੀਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
giaaneea kaa dhan naam hai sad hee rahai samaae |
The Naam is the wealth of the spiritually wise. It is permeating and pervading forever.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
naanak jin kau nadar kare taan ihu dhan palai paae |2|
O Nanak, those who are blessed with His Glance of Grace receive this wealth. ||2||
