ਨ੍ਰਹਾਵਨਿ ਲਾਗਿ ਜਬੈ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਤਬ ਲੈ ਪਟ ਕਾਨ ਚਰਿਯੋ ਤਰੁ ਊਪੈ ॥

nrahaavan laag jabai gupeea tab lai patt kaan chariyo tar aoopai |

When the gopis began to take bath, Krishna ascended the tree taking away their clothes

ਤਉ ਮੁਸਕਯਾਨ ਲਗੀ ਮਧਿ ਆਪਨ ਕੋਇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਪੈ ॥

tau musakayaan lagee madh aapan koe pukaar kare har joo pai |

The gopis smiled and some of them shouted and said to him:

ਚੀਰ ਹਰੇ ਹਮਰੇ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਠਗ ਨਾਹਿ ਕਿਧੋ ਕੋਊ ਭੂ ਪੈ ॥

cheer hare hamare chhal so tum so tthag naeh kidho koaoo bhoo pai |

“You have fraudulently stolen our clothes, there is no other thug like you

ਹਾਥਨ ਸਾਥ ਸੁ ਸਾਰੀ ਹਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਸਾਥ ਹਰੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਰੂਪੈ ॥੨੫੧॥

haathan saath su saaree haree drig saath haro hamaro tum roopai |251|

You have taken away our clothes with your hands and you are capturing our beauty with your eyes.”251.
