ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਮੁਗਲ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਚਲੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਬਾਗ ਲਿਵਾਇ ॥
praat mugal ko lai chalee apane baag livaae |
Next day she, delightfully, took Mughal to the garden.
ਰਸ ਕਸ ਲੈ ਮਦਰਾ ਚਲੀ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੧੬॥
ras kas lai madaraa chalee hridai harakh upajaae |16|
She carried with her wine and plenty of other viands.(16)
ਬਾਗ ਮੁਗਲ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਚਲੀ ਉਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
baag mugal ko lai chalee ut nrip suteh bulaae |
On one side she took Mughal with her and the other side she sent for the Raja’s son.
ਫਲਨ ਚਬਾਵਨ ਕੇ ਨਮਿਤ ਚੜੀ ਬਿਰਛ ਪਰ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੭॥
falan chabaavan ke namit charree birachh par jaae |17|
Reaching there she immediately went up the tree.(17)
ਚੜਤ ਰੂਖ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਤੈ ਕਾਜ ॥
charrat rookh aise kahiyo kahaa karat tai kaaj |
From up the tree she said, ‘What is this you are doing?
ਮੁਹਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਅਨਤ ਸੋ ਰਮਤ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਲਾਜ ॥੧੮॥
muhi dekhat triy anat so ramat na aavat laaj |18|
‘Aren’t you ashamed of having romance with another women while I am watching ?’(18)
ਉਤਰਿ ਰੂਖ ਤੇ ਯੌ ਕਹੀ ਕਹਾ ਗਈ ਵਹ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ॥
autar rookh te yau kahee kahaa gee veh treey |
She came down and asked, ‘Where has the woman gone with whom
ਤੌ ਜਿਹ ਅਬ ਭੋਗਤ ਹੁਤੋ ਅਧਿਕ ਮਾਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਜੀਯ ॥੧੯॥
tau jih ab bhogat huto adhik maan sukh jeey |19|
You were making passionate love?(19)
ਮੈ ਨ ਰਮਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਅਨਤ ਸੋ ਭਯੋ ਭੇਦ ਯਹ ਕੌਨ ॥
mai na ramiyo triy anat so bhayo bhed yeh kauan |
He replied, ‘I was not making romance with anybody.’
ਕਛੁ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਇਹ ਰੂਖ ਮੈ ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਬਾਧੀ ਮੌਨ ॥੨੦॥
kachh charitr ih rookh mai yau keh baadhee mauan |20|
The woman said, ‘A miracle seems to be emanating from this tree,’ and went quiet.(20)
ਯੌ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਚਿਤ ਬੀਚ ਕਰਿ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਬਿਰਛ ਪਰ ਧਾਇ ॥
yau chintaa chit beech kar charriyo birachh par dhaae |
In amazement Mughal climbed the tree,
ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਤ ਕੋ ਨਿਕਟ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੨੧॥
rat maanee triy nripat ke sut ko nikatt bulaae |21|
Down there the woman made love with the prince.(21)
ਅਤਿ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦ੍ਰਖਤ ਤੇ ਉਤਰਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤ ਜਾਨਿ ॥
at pukaar kar drakhat te utariyo nrip sut jaan |
Shouting at the prince, Mughal came down but, in the mean time, the woman had made the prince to run away.
ਉਤਰਤ ਦਿਯੋ ਭਜਾਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਦੇਖ︀ਯੋ ਆਨਿ ॥੨੨॥
autarat diyo bhajaae triy kachhoo na dekhayo aan |22|
And Mughal could not find him there.(22)
