ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਬੁਤ ਪੂਜਿ ਪੂਜਿ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੂਏ ਤੁਰਕ ਮੂਏ ਸਿਰੁ ਨਾਈ ॥

but pooj pooj hindoo mooe turak mooe sir naaee |

Worshipping their idols, the Hindus die; the Muslims die bowing their heads.

ਓਇ ਲੇ ਜਾਰੇ ਓਇ ਲੇ ਗਾਡੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਦੁਹੂ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥

oe le jaare oe le gaadde teree gat duhoo na paaee |1|

The Hindus cremate their dead, while the Muslims bury theirs; neither finds Your true state, Lord. ||1||

ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਅੰਧ ਗਹੇਰਾ ॥

man re sansaar andh gaheraa |

O mind, the world is a deep, dark pit.

ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸ ਪਸਰਿਓ ਹੈ ਜਮ ਜੇਵਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

chahu dis pasario hai jam jevaraa |1| rahaau |

On all four sides, Death has spread his net. ||1||Pause||

ਕਬਿਤ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਕਬਿਤਾ ਮੂਏ ਕਪੜ ਕੇਦਾਰੈ ਜਾਈ ॥

kabit parre parr kabitaa mooe kaparr kedaarai jaaee |

Reciting their poems, the poets die; the mystical ascetics die while journeying to Kaydaar Naat'h.

ਜਟਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਮੂਏ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਇਨਹਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥

jattaa dhaar dhaar jogee mooe teree gat ineh na paaee |2|

The Yogis die, with their matted hair, but even they do not find Your state, Lord. ||2||

ਦਰਬੁ ਸੰਚਿ ਸੰਚਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਮੂਏ ਗਡਿ ਲੇ ਕੰਚਨ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

darab sanch sanch raaje mooe gadd le kanchan bhaaree |

The kings die, gathering and hoarding their money, burying great quantities of gold.

ਬੇਦ ਪੜੇ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੂਏ ਰੂਪੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੩॥

bed parre parr panddit mooe roop dekh dekh naaree |3|

The Pandits die, reading and reciting the Vedas; women die, gazing at their own beauty. ||3||

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਗੂਤੇ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥

raam naam bin sabhai bigoote dekhahu nirakh sareeraa |

Without the Lord's Name, all come to ruin; behold, and know this, O body.

ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਨਿ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥

har ke naam bin kin gat paaee keh upades kabeeraa |4|1|

Without the Name of the Lord, who can find salvation? Kabeer speaks the Teachings. ||4||1||
