ਰੂਪ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਹੇਰਿ ਕੈ ਬੇਗਮ ਰਹੀ ਲੁਭਾਇ ॥

roop tihaaro her kai begam rahee lubhaae |

‘Admiring your handsomeness, the Rani has fallen in love with you,

ਹੇਤ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੇ ਮੋ ਕਹ ਦਯੋ ਪਠਾਇ ॥੯॥

het tihaare milan ke mo keh dayo patthaae |9|

‘And with a desire to meet you she has sent me.’(9)

ਹਜਰਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਚੋਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਕਹਾ ਫਿਰਤ ਹੋ ਐਠਿ ॥

hajarat triy ko chor chit kahaa firat ho aitth |

‘Your honour, sir, after stealing a woman’s heart,

ਬੇਗਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ਬੇਗਮਹਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਦੇਗ ਮਹਿ ਬੈਠ ॥੧੦॥

beg bulaayo begameh chalahu deg meh baitth |10|

Why are you showing undue pride.’(10)

ਛਾਰਿਯਾ ਉਰਦਾ ਬੇਗਨੀ ਖੋਜੇ ਜਹਾ ਅਨੇਕ ॥

chhaariyaa uradaa beganee khoje jahaa anek |

‘You come there, where there are numerous mace bearers and researchers.

ਪੰਖੀ ਫਟਕਿ ਸਕੈ ਨਹੀ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਮਨੁਖ ਨ ਏਕ ॥੧੧॥

pankhee fattak sakai nahee pahuchai manukh na ek |11|

‘But no strangers, not even the birds can interfere.(11)
