ਸੁਨਤ ਬਚਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੈਨ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥

sunat bachan nrip sain bulaayo |

The exhilarated Raja immediately called his courtiers

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਦਰਬੁ ਲੁਟਾਯੋ ॥

bhaat bhaat so darab luttaayo |

And handed out lot of wealth in bounty.

ਸਾਜੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੌਚ ਤਨ ਧਾਰੇ ॥

saaje sasatr kauach tan dhaare |

All of them, dressed in iron-coats, armed themselves

ਸਹਰ ਓਡਛਾ ਓਰ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੦॥

sehar oddachhaa or sidhaare |10|

And went to raid the city of Orrisa.(10)

ਭੇਵ ਸੁਨਤ ਉਨਹੂੰ ਦਲ ਜੋਰਿਯੋ ॥

bhev sunat unahoon dal joriyo |

The other Raja understood the situation

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਏ ਸੈਨ ਨਿਹੋਰਿਯੋ ॥

bhaat bhaat bhe sain nihoriyo |

And observed the various (enemy) armies.

ਰਨ ਛਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਕੋ ਆਇਸੁ ਦੀਨੋ ॥

ran chhatrin ko aaeis deeno |

He ordered for the war and

ਆਪੁਨ ਜੁਧ ਹੇਤ ਮਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੧॥

aapun judh het man keeno |11|

Girded himself for the fight.(11)
