DOHRA

ਲਖਿਓ ਦੇਵਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨੈ ਲਖਿਓ ਨ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਾਤ ॥

lakhio devakee har manai lakhio na kar kar taat |

ਲਖਿਓ ਜਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੀ ਤਾਨੀ ਤਾਨਿ ਕਨਾਤ ॥੫੮॥

lakhio jaan kar mohi kee taanee taan kanaat |58|

Devaki did not consider him as a son, but saw him in the form of God, still, being a mother, her attachment grew.58.

ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਜਨਮ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਭਇਓ ਦੇਵਨ ਭਇਓ ਹੁਲਾਸ ॥

krisan janam jab hee bheo devan bheo hulaas |

ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਬੈ ਅਬ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਹਿੰ ਹਮ ਕੋ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਲਾਸ ॥੫੯॥

satr sabai ab naas hohin ham ko hoe bilaas |59|

As soon as Krishna was born, the gods were filled with joy and thought that then the enemies would be destroyed and them they would be overjoyed.59.

ਆਨੰਦ ਸੋ ਸਬ ਦੇਵਤਨ ਸੁਮਨ ਦੀਨ ਬਰਖਾਇ ॥

aanand so sab devatan suman deen barakhaae |

ਸੋਕ ਹਰਨ ਦੁਸਟਨ ਦਲਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਜਗ ਮੋ ਆਇ ॥੬੦॥

sok haran dusattan dalan pragatte jag mo aae |60|

Filled with delight, the gods showered flowers and believed that Vishnu, the destroyer of sorrows and tyrants had manifested himself in the world.60.

ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰ ਭਯੋ ਜਬੈ ਸੁਨੀ ਦੇਵਕੀ ਕਾਨਿ ॥

jai jai kaar bhayo jabai sunee devakee kaan |

ਤ੍ਰਾਸਤਿ ਹੁਇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੋਰ ਕਰੈ ਕੋ ਆਨਿ ॥੬੧॥

traasat hue man mai kahiyo sor karai ko aan |61|

When Devaki heard the hailings with her own ears, then she with fear began to think as to who was creating noise.61.

ਬਾਸੁਦੇਵ ਅਰੁ ਦੇਵਕੀ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

baasudev ar devakee mantr karai man maeh |

ਕੰਸ ਕਸਾਈ ਜਾਨ ਕੈ ਹੀਐ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰਪਾਹਿ ॥੬੨॥

kans kasaaee jaan kai heeai adhik ddarapaeh |62|

Vasudev and Devaki began to think between themselves and considering Kansa as a butcher, their hearts were filled with great fear.62.
