ਜਿਹ ਮਾਰਗ ਕੇ ਗਨੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਕੋਸਾ ॥

jih maarag ke gane jaeh na kosaa |

On that path where the miles cannot be counted,

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਊਹਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਤੋਸਾ ॥

har kaa naam aoohaa sang tosaa |

there, the Name of the Lord shall be your sustenance.

ਜਿਹ ਪੈਡੈ ਮਹਾ ਅੰਧ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ॥

jih paiddai mahaa andh gubaaraa |

On that journey of total, pitch-black darkness,

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ॥

har kaa naam sang ujeeaaraa |

the Name of the Lord shall be the Light with you.

ਜਹਾ ਪੰਥਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੋ ਨ ਸਿਞਾਨੂ ॥

jahaa panth teraa ko na siyaanoo |

On that journey where no one knows you,

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਛਾਨੂ ॥

har kaa naam teh naal pachhaanoo |

with the Name of the Lord, you shall be recognized.

ਜਹ ਮਹਾ ਭਇਆਨ ਤਪਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਘਾਮ ॥

jeh mahaa bheaan tapat bahu ghaam |

Where there is awesome and terrible heat and blazing sunshine,

ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਤੁਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਛਾਮ ॥

teh har ke naam kee tum aoopar chhaam |

there, the Name of the Lord will give you shade.

ਜਹਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਮਨ ਤੁਝੁ ਆਕਰਖੈ ॥

jahaa trikhaa man tujh aakarakhai |

Where thirst, O my mind, torments you to cry out,

ਤਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਰਖੈ ॥੪॥

teh naanak har har amrit barakhai |4|

there, O Nanak, the Ambrosial Name, Har, Har, shall rain down upon you. ||4||
