ਲਾਲੁ ਚੋਲਨਾ ਤੈ ਤਨਿ ਸੋਹਿਆ ॥

laal cholanaa tai tan sohiaa |

That red dress looks so beautiful on your body.

ਸੁਰਿਜਨ ਭਾਨੀ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ॥੧॥

surijan bhaanee taan man mohiaa |1|

Your Husband Lord is pleased, and His heart is enticed. ||1||

ਕਵਨ ਬਨੀ ਰੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਲਾਲੀ ॥

kavan banee ree teree laalee |

Whose handiwork is this red beauty of yours?

ਕਵਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਤੂੰ ਭਈ ਗੁਲਾਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

kavan rang toon bhee gulaalee |1| rahaau |

Whose love has rendered the poppy so red? ||1||Pause||

ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸੁਹਾਗੁ ॥

tum hee sundar tumeh suhaag |

You are so beautiful; you are the happy soul-bride.

ਤੁਮ ਘਰਿ ਲਾਲਨੁ ਤੁਮ ਘਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੨॥

tum ghar laalan tum ghar bhaag |2|

Your Beloved is in your home; good fortune is in your home. ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਸਤਵੰਤੀ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਧਾਨਿ ॥

toon satavantee toon paradhaan |

You are pure and chaste, you are most distinguished.

ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਾਨੀ ਤੁਹੀ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨਿ ॥੩॥

toon preetam bhaanee tuhee sur giaan |3|

You are pleasing to Your Beloved, and you have sublime understanding. ||3||

ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਭਾਨੀ ਤਾਂ ਰੰਗਿ ਗੁਲਾਲ ॥

preetam bhaanee taan rang gulaal |

I am pleasing to my Beloved, and so I am imbued with the deep red color.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਭ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥੪॥

kahu naanak subh drisatt nihaal |4|

Says Nanak, I have been totally blessed with the Lord's Glance of Grace. ||4||

ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀ ਸਖੀ ਇਹ ਹਮਰੀ ਘਾਲ ॥

sun ree sakhee ih hamaree ghaal |

Listen, O companions: this is my only work;

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਿ ਸਵਾਰਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੫੨॥

prabh aap seegaar savaaranahaar |1| rahaau doojaa |1|52|
