ਰੰਗ ਮਹਲ ਬਿਖੈ ਹੁਤੇ ਨਰ ਰਾਇ ਤਵਨੈ ਕਾਲ ॥

rang mehal bikhai hute nar raae tavanai kaal |

ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਬਿਰਾਜਤੀ ਤਹ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਲੈ ਬਾਲ ॥

roop prabhaa biraajatee teh sundaree lai baal |

When Raja was in the Palace, Roop Prabha used to come there with her companions.

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਰੇ ਨਾਦ ਔ ਨਫੀਰੀ ਬੇਨੁ ਬੀਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ॥

kaanrahare naad aau nafeeree ben been mridang |

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕੁਲਾਹਲ ਹੋਤ ਨਾਨਾ ਰੰਗ ॥੩॥

ਏਕ ਨਟੂਆ ਤਹ ਰਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਬਿਸੁਨ ਦਤ੍ਵਾ ਨਾਮ ॥

There lived a bard who was known as Bishan Datt,

ਰਾਵ ਜੂ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਨਚਾਵਤ ਰਹੈ ਆਠੌ ਜਾਮ ॥

raav joo taa kau nachaavat rahai aatthau jaam |

Whom the Raja had made to dance whole day long.

ਅਮਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਰਾਨਿਯਹਿ ਨਿਜੁ ਨੈਨ ॥

amit roop bilok taa kau raaniyeh nij nain |

When the Rani saw him with her own eyes,

ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਿਰੀ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਭੂ ਪੈ ਬਧੀ ਸਾਯਕ ਮੈਨ ॥੪॥

hvai giree bisanbhaar bhoo pai badhee saayak main |4|
