ਸਹਸ ਬਾਹੁ ਜਮਦਗਨਿ ਘਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਾਹੁਣਚਾਰੀ ਆਇਆ ।

sehas baahu jamadagan ghar hoe paraahunachaaree aaeaa |

A king named Sahasrbahu came to Jamadagni rishi as a guest.

ਕਾਮਧੇਣੁ ਲੋਭਾਇ ਕੈ ਜਮਦਗਨੈ ਦਾ ਸਿਰੁ ਵਢਵਾਇਆ ।

kaamadhen lobhaae kai jamadaganai daa sir vadtavaaeaa |

Seeing wish-ful-filling cow with the rishi he became greedy and killed Jamdagni.

ਪਿਟਦੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਕੈ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਪਰਸਰਾਮ ਧਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਇਆ ।

pittadee sun kai renukaa parasaraam dhaaee kar dhaaeaa |

Hearing the wails of Renuka, his mother, Parana Ram came running to her.

ਇਕੀਹ ਵਾਰ ਕਰੋਧ ਕਰਿ ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਖਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਾਇਆ ।

eikeeh vaar karodh kar khatree maar nikhatr karaaeaa |

Becoming full of anger he cleared this earth of the kshatriyas twenty-one time i.e. he killed all the kashatriyas.

ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣਿ ਫੜਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਦੂਜੈ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਖੜਗੁ ਉਚਾਇਆ ।

charan saran farr ubare doojai kisai na kharrag uchaaeaa |

Only those who fell at the feet of Parasu Rim were saved; none else could raise arms against him.

ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਆ ਚਿਰੰਜੀਵ ਹੁਇ ਆਪੁ ਜਣਾਇਆ ।

haumai maar na sakeea chiranjeev hue aap janaaeaa |

He also could not obliterate his ego and though he became chiraiijiv i.e. ever living person,

ਚਰਣ ਕਵਲ ਮਕਰੰਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ।੭।

charan kaval makarand na paaeaa |7|

He always made show of his ego and could never receive the pollen of the lotus feet (of Lord).
