ਰਣ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਝਾਲੀ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਆਂਵਦੀ ॥

ran vich kinai na jhaalee duragaa aanvadee |

And that none could withstand the marching Durga in the battlefield.

ਬਹੁਤੇ ਬੀਰ ਜਟਾਲੀ ਉਠੇ ਆਖ ਕੈ ॥

bahute beer jattaalee utthe aakh kai |

Many brave fighters with matted hair got up saing

ਚੋਟਾ ਪਾਨ ਤਬਾਲੀ ਜਾਸਨ ਜੁਧ ਨੂੰ ॥

chottaa paan tabaalee jaasan judh noo |

That drummers should sound the drums because they would go for war.

ਥਰਿ ਥਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਚਾਲੀ ਦਲਾਂ ਚੜੰਦਿਆਂ ॥

thar thar prithamee chaalee dalaan charrandiaan |

When the armies marched, the earth trembled

ਨਾਉ ਜਿਵੇ ਹੈ ਹਾਲੀ ਸਹੁ ਦਰੀਆਉ ਵਿਚਿ ॥

naau jive hai haalee sahu dareeaau vich |

Like the shaking boat, which is still in the river.

ਧੂੜਿ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਘਾਲੀ ਛੜੀ ਤੁਰੰਗਮਾਂ ॥

dhoorr utaahaan ghaalee chharree turangamaan |

The dust arose with the hooves of the horses

ਜਾਣਿ ਪੁਕਾਰੂ ਚਾਲੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਥੈ ॥੪੪॥
