ਯਹ ਪਚਮਾਰ ਖਬਰਿ ਸੁਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
yeh pachamaar khabar sun paaee |
ਨਾਰਿ ਜੁਲਾਹੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
naar julaahee hutee bulaaee |
When the weaver heard this news, he called his wife.
ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਡਰ ਕੀਨੋ ॥
chit mai adhik duhoon ddar keeno |
ਅਰਧ ਰਾਤਿ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਮਗੁ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੨੧॥
aradh raat ban ko mag leeno |21|
Both were terror stricken and, at the pitch of the night, took their way to the jungle.(21)
ਜਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੁਲਾਹੋ ਭਾਜ︀ਯੋ ॥
jab triy sahit julaaho bhaajayo |
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਘੋਰ ਘਟਾ ਘਨ ਗਾਜ੍ਰਯੋ ॥
tab hee ghor ghattaa ghan gaajrayo |
When the weaver and his wife were running away, the thunder storm approached,
ਕਬਹੂੰ ਚਮਿਕਿ ਬਿਜੁਰਿਯਾ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
kabahoon chamik bijuriyaa jaavai |
ਤਬ ਮਾਰਗ ਕੋ ਚੀਨਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੨੨॥
tab maarag ko cheenan aavai |22|
And amidst the severe lightning, they lost their way.(22)
ਮਗ ਤੈ ਭੂਲਿ ਤਿਸੀ ਮਗੁ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
mag tai bhool tisee mag pariyo |
ਜਹ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਲਸਕਰ ਢਰਿਯੋ ॥
jeh nrip ar ko lasakar dtariyo |
Losing their way they came to the place where the Raja’s enemy were encamping.
ਕੂੰਈ ਹੁਤੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਹਿ ਆਈ ॥
koonee hutee drisatt neh aaee |
ਤਾ ਮੌ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਜੁਲਾਹੋ ਜਾਈ ॥੨੩॥
taa mau pariyo julaaho jaaee |23|
There was a, well which was not visible to them and the weaver fell in it.(23)
