Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਵੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥

bandhan te chhuttakaavai prabhoo milaavai har har naam sunaavai |

Is there anyone who can release me from my bondage, unite me with God, recite the Name of the Lord, Har, Har,

ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਵੈ ॥੧॥

asathir kare nihachal ihu manooaa bahur na katahoo dhaavai |1|

and make this mind steady and stable, so that it no longer wanders around? ||1||

ਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਐਸੋ ਹਮਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ॥

hai koaoo aiso hamaraa meet |

Do I have any such friend?

ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਹੀਉ ਦੇਉ ਅਰਪਉ ਅਪਨੋ ਚੀਤੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

sagal samagree jeeo heeo deo arpau apano cheet |1| rahaau |

I would give him all my property, my soul and my heart; I would devote my consciousness to him. ||1||Pause||

ਪਰ ਧਨ ਪਰ ਤਨ ਪਰ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਇਨ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥

par dhan par tan par kee nindaa in siau preet na laagai |

Others' wealth, others' bodies, and the slander of others - do not attach your love to them.

ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗੁ ਸੰਤ ਸੰਭਾਖਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੨॥

santah sang sant sanbhaakhan har keeratan man jaagai |2|

Associate with the Saints, speak with the Saints, and keep your mind awake to the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises. ||2||

ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥

gun nidhaan deaal purakh prabh sarab sookh deaalaa |

God is the treasure of virtue, kind and compassionate, the source of all comfort.

ਮਾਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੩॥੧੪॥

maagai daan naam tero naanak jiau maataa baal gupaalaa |3|14|

Nanak begs for the gift of Your Name; O Lord of the world, love him, like the mother loves her child. ||3||14||
