ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸੁਨਹਿ ॥

mithiaa sravan par nindaa suneh |

False are the ears which listen to the slander of others.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਹਸਤ ਪਰ ਦਰਬ ਕਉ ਹਿਰਹਿ ॥

mithiaa hasat par darab kau hireh |

False are the hands which steal the wealth of others.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪੇਖਤ ਪਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੂਪਾਦ ॥

mithiaa netr pekhat par tria roopaad |

False are the eyes which gaze upon the beauty of another's wife.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਨ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ॥

mithiaa rasanaa bhojan an svaad |

False is the tongue which enjoys delicacies and external tastes.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਚਰਨ ਪਰ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਕਉ ਧਾਵਹਿ ॥

mithiaa charan par bikaar kau dhaaveh |

False are the feet which run to do evil to others.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮਨ ਪਰ ਲੋਭ ਲੁਭਾਵਹਿ ॥

mithiaa man par lobh lubhaaveh |

False is the mind which covets the wealth of others.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਤਨ ਨਹੀ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰਾ ॥

mithiaa tan nahee praupakaaraa |

False is the body which does not do good to others.

ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਾਸੁ ਲੇਤ ਬਿਕਾਰਾ ॥

mithiaa baas let bikaaraa |

False is the nose which inhales corruption.

ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝੇ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਸਭ ਭਏ ॥

bin boojhe mithiaa sabh bhe |

Without understanding, everything is false.

ਸਫਲ ਦੇਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਲਏ ॥੫॥
