TOTAK STANZA

ਮੁਨੀਸੁਰੋਵਾਚ ॥

The Great Sage said:

ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ਰਹੈ ਸਜਿ ਸੈਨ ਤਹਾ ॥

har soe rahai saj sain tahaa |

ਜਲ ਜਾਲ ਕਰਾਲ ਬਿਸਾਲ ਜਹਾ ॥

jal jaal karaal bisaal jahaa |

The Lord was sleeping on an adorned bed, within the terrible and vast expanse of water.

ਭਯੋ ਨਾਭਿ ਸਰੋਜ ਤੇ ਬਿਸੁ ਕਰਤਾ ॥

bhayo naabh saroj te bis karataa |

ਸ੍ਰੁਤ ਮੈਲ ਤੇ ਦੈਤ ਰਚੇ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥੮॥

srut mail te dait rache jugataa |8|

From His navel-lotus Brahma was born, with some device, the demons were created from the dross of His ear.8.

ਮਧੁ ਕੈਟਭ ਨਾਮ ਧਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ॥

madh kaittabh naam dhare tin ke |

ਅਤਿ ਦੀਰਘ ਦੇਹ ਭਏ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ॥

at deeragh deh bhe jin ke |

They were named as Madhu and Kaitabh, their bodies were enormously great.

ਤਿਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਲੁਕੇਸ ਡਰਿਓ ਹੀਅ ਮੈ ॥

tin dekh lukes ddario heea mai |

ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਕੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਜੀਅ ਮੈ ॥੯॥

jag maat ko dhiaan dhariyo jeea mai |9|

Seeing them, Brahma became fearful, He contemplated in his mind on the universal mother.9.
