ਤਉ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੁਤ ਅੰਜੁਲ ਜੋਰ ਕੈ ਯੌ ਘਿਘਯਾਵੈ ॥

tau tih kee triyaa sabh hee sut anjul jor kai yau ghighayaavai |

ਰਛ ਕਰੋ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਤੁਮ ਪੈ ਬਰੁ ਦਾਨ ਇਹੈ ਹਮ ਪਾਵੈ ॥

rachh karo ih kee har jee tum pai bar daan ihai ham paavai |

Then the wives of the snake, while weeping, said, with folded hands, “O Lord! grant us the boon of the protection of this snake

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇਤ ਵਹੈ ਹਮ ਲਿਆਵਤ ਬਿਖ ਦਈ ਵਹ ਹੀ ਹਮ ਲਿਆਵੈ ॥

amrit det vahai ham liaavat bikh dee veh hee ham liaavai |

“O Lord! if you give ambrosia to us, we adopt the same and if you give the poison, that also is adopted by us

ਦੋਸ ਨਹੀ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਕਛੁ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੈ ਅਰੁ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਾਵੈ ॥੨੧੫॥

dos nahee hamare pat ko kachh baat kahai ar sees jhukaavai |215|

There is no fault of our husband in this,” saying this much they bowed their heads.215.

ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਬਡੋ ਅਹਿ ਕੇ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਰਾ ਮਧਿ ਆਇ ਛਪੇ ਥੇ ॥

“We people had great fear of garuda (blue jay) and we had concealed ourselves in this pool

ਗਰਬੁ ਬਡੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਤਿ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਜਾਨਿ ਹਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਪੇ ਥੇ ॥

Our husband had definitely some pride and he has not remembered the Lord

ਹੇ ਜਗ ਕੇ ਪਤਿ ਹੇ ਕਰੁਨਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਤੈ ਦਸ ਰਾਵਨ ਸੀਸ ਕਪੇ ਥੇ ॥

he jag ke pat he karunaa nidh tai das raavan sees kape the |

“O Lord our foolish husband did not know that it were you who had chopped all the ten heads of Ravana

ਮੂਰਖ ਬਾਤ ਜਨੀ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਨੈ ਹਮ ਇਉ ਹੀ ਖਪੇ ਥੇ ॥੨੧੬॥

moorakh baat janee na kachhoo paravaar sanai ham iau hee khape the |216|

We all had destroyed ourselves, our family in vain, on being agitaed.”216.
