ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਉ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥

jau suprasan hoeo prabh meraa |

When my God is totally pleased with me,

ਤਾਂ ਦੂਖੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਨੇਰਾ ॥੧॥

taan dookh bharam kahu kaise neraa |1|

then, tell me, how can suffering or doubt draw near me? ||1||

ਸੁਨਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੀ ॥

sun sun jeevaa soe tumaaree |

Continually listening to Your Glory, I live.

ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਕਉ ਲੇਹੁ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

mohi niragun kau lehu udhaaree |1| rahaau |

I am worthless - save me, O Lord! ||1||Pause||

ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਦੂਖੁ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥

mitt geaa dookh bisaaree chintaa |

My suffering has been ended, and my anxiety is forgotten.

ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਪਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੰਤਾ ॥੨॥

fal paaeaa jap satigur mantaa |2|

I have obtained my reward, chanting the Mantra of the True Guru. ||2||

ਸੋਈ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥

soee sat sat hai soe |

He is True, and True is His glory.

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਰਖੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਪਰੋਇ ॥੩॥

simar simar rakh kantth paroe |3|

Remembering, remembering Him in meditation, keep Him clasped to your heart. ||3||

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉਨ ਉਹ ਕਰਮਾ ॥

kahu naanak kaun uh karamaa |

Says Nanak, what action is there left to do,

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੭੨॥

jaa kai man vasiaa har naamaa |4|21|72|

by one whose mind is filled with the Lord's Name? ||4||21||72||
