ਦਛਿਨ ਦੇਸ ਬਿਚਛਨ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

dachhin des bichachhan naaree |

ਜੋਗੀ ਗਏ ਭਏ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥

jogee ge bhe ghar baaree |

Even ascetics are turned into householders in their association.

ਚਤੁਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰਾਜ ਤਹ ਭਾਰੋ ॥

There used to be a ruler of Chandra Bansi Clan, named Chatter Singh.(1)

ਹੈ ਗੈ ਰਥ ਪੈਦਲ ਬਹੁ ਵਾ ਕੇ ॥

ਔਰ ਭੂਪ ਕੋਊ ਤੁਲਿ ਨ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥

He had numerous elephants, horses and foot soldiers, and no other ruler was of his standing.

ਰੂਪ ਕਲਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥

roop kalaa taa kee bar naaree |

ਜਨੁ ਰਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਤੇ ਭਈ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨॥

jan rat pat te bhee kumaaree |2|

Roop Kala was his wife, who appeared to be born of the Cupid’s wedlock.(2)

ਅਧਿਕ ਰਾਵ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਸਿ ਰਹੈ ॥

adhik raav taa ke bas rahai |

ਜੋ ਵਹੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਹੈ ॥

jo vahu mukh te kahai su kahai |

A number of Rajas were under his suzerainty.

ਰੂਪ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਨ ਡਰੈ ॥

roop matee tih traas na ddarai |

ਜੋ ਚਿਤ ਭਾਵੇ ਸੋਈ ਕਰੈ ॥੩॥

jo chit bhaave soee karai |3|

But Roop Kala never feared him and she acted whatever the way she willed.(3)
