TOMAR STANZA

ਪੂਜੇ ਨ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਨਾਥ ॥

pooje na ko treeyaa naath |

ਐਂਠੀ ਫਿਰੈ ਜੀਅ ਸਾਥ ॥

aintthee firai jeea saath |

No wife worshipped her husband and always remained in her pride.

ਦੁਖੁ ਵੈ ਨ ਤਿਨ ਕਹੁ ਕਾਮ ॥

dukh vai na tin kahu kaam |

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਨ ਬਿਨਵਤ ਬਾਮ ॥੫॥

taa te na binavat baam |5|

She had no grief and did not suffer because of the sexual instinct, therefore, there was no desire for supplication in them.5.

ਕਰ ਹੈ ਨ ਪਤਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥

kar hai na pat kee sev |

ਪੂਜੈ ਨ ਗੁਰ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥

poojai na gur guradev |

Neither she served her husband, nor worshipped and abored the preceptors.

ਧਰ ਹੈਂ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਧਯਾਨ ॥

dhar hain na har ko dhayaan |

ਕਰਿ ਹੈਂ ਨ ਨਿਤ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥੬॥

kar hain na nit isanaan |6|

Neither she meditated on Lord-God nor she ever took bath.6.

ਤਬ ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥

tab kaal purakh bulaae |

ਬਿਸਨੈ ਕਹਯੋ ਸਮਝਾਇ ॥

bisanai kahayo samajhaae |

Then the Immanent Lord called Vishnu and giving instruction to him, told, him that,

ਸਸਿ ਕੋ ਧਰਿਹੁ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥

sas ko dharihu avataar |

ਨਹੀ ਆਨ ਬਾਤ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੭॥

nahee aan baat bichaar |7|

Without taking any other thing into consideration, he should manifest himself as Chandra incarnation.7.

ਤਬ ਬਿਸਨ ਸੀਸ ਨਿਵਾਇ ॥

tab bisan sees nivaae |

ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥

kar jor kahee banaae |

Then Vishnu bowing his head said with folded hands,

ਧਰਿਹੋਂ ਦਿਨਾਤ ਵਤਾਰ ॥

dharihon dinaat vataar |

ਜਿਤ ਹੋਇ ਜਗਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥੮॥

jit hoe jagat kumaar |8|

“I shall assume the form of Chandra incarnation, so that the beauty may prosper in the world.8.

ਤਬ ਮਹਾ ਤੇਜ ਮੁਰਾਰ ॥

tab mahaa tej muraar |

ਧਰਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥

dhariyo su chandr avataar |

Then the extremely glorious Vishnu manifested himself as Chandra (incarnation),

ਤਨ ਕੈ ਮਦਨ ਕੋ ਬਾਨ ॥

tan kai madan ko baan |

ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਨ ਕਹ ਤਾਨ ॥੯॥

maariyo treeyan keh taan |9|

And he shot continuously the arrows of the god of love towards women.9.

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਈ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਦੀਨ ॥

taa te bhee treey deen |

ਸਭ ਗਰਬ ਹੁਐ ਗਯੋ ਛੀਨ ॥

sabh garab huai gayo chheen |

Because of this the women became modest and all their pride was shattered.

ਲਾਗੀ ਕਰਨ ਪਤਿ ਸੇਵ ॥

laagee karan pat sev |

ਯਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਭਏ ਦੇਵ ॥੧੦॥

yaa te prasan bhe dev |10|

They again began to perform service to their husbands and by this all the gods were pleased.10.

ਬਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਾ ਲਾਗੀ ਹੋਨ ॥

bahu krisaa laagee hon |

ਲਖ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਕੀ ਜੌਨ ॥

lakh chandramaa kee jauan |

Seeing Chandra, people began to do farming to a large extent.

ਸਭ ਭਏ ਸਿਧ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥

sabh bhe sidh bichaar |

ਇਮ ਭਯੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੧੧॥

eim bhayo chandr avataar |11|

All the thoughts-out works were accomplished, in this manner, Chandra incarnation came into being.11.
