ਅਮਿਤ ਦਰਬੁ ਹਮ ਜੋ ਦਯੋ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਦਯੋ ਲੁਟਾਇ ॥

amit darab ham jo dayo so ih dayo luttaae |

(The Raja thought) ‘All the wealth which I handed over to him, he has given away.

ਐਸੇ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਫਜੂਲ ਕੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਨ ਰਾਖ︀ਯੋ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੪॥

aise bipr fajool ko mohi na raakhayo jaae |14|

‘Such a foolish Brahmin priest could not be retained by me.’(l4)
