Aasaavaree, Fifth Mehl:

ਮਨਸਾ ਏਕ ਮਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

manasaa ek maan haan |

Cherish one desire only:

ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਤ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

gur siau net dhiaan haan |

meditate continually on the Guru.

ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਸੰਤ ਮੰਤ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

drirr sant mant giaan haan |

Install the wisdom of the Saints' Mantra.

ਸੇਵਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

sevaa gur charaan haan |

Serve the Feet of the Guru,

ਤਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

tau mileeai gur kripaan mere manaa |1| rahaau |

and you shall meet Him, by Guru's Grace, O my mind. ||1||Pause||

ਟੂਟੇ ਅਨ ਭਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

ttootte an bharaan haan |

All doubts are dispelled,

ਰਵਿਓ ਸਰਬ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

ravio sarab thaan haan |

and the Lord is seen to be pervading all places.

ਲਹਿਓ ਜਮ ਭਇਆਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

lahio jam bheaan haan |

The fear of death is dispelled,

ਪਾਇਓ ਪੇਡ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

paaeo pedd thaan haan |

and the primal place is obtained.

ਤਉ ਚੂਕੀ ਸਗਲ ਕਾਨਿ ॥੧॥

tau chookee sagal kaan |1|

Then, all subservience is removed. ||1||

ਲਹਨੋ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

lahano jis mathaan haan |

One who has such destiny recorded upon his forehead, obtains it;

ਭੈ ਪਾਵਕ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

bhai paavak paar paraan haan |

he crosses over the terrifying ocean of fire.

ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਥਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

nij ghar tiseh thaan haan |

He obtains a place in the home of his own self,

ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਰਸਹਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

har ras raseh maan haan |

and enjoys the most sublime essence of the Lord's essence.

ਲਾਥੀ ਤਿਸ ਭੁਖਾਨਿ ਹਾਂ ॥

laathee tis bhukhaan haan |

His hunger is appeased;

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਓ ਰੇ ਮਨਾ ॥੨॥੨॥੧੫੮॥

naanak sehaj samaaeo re manaa |2|2|158|

Nanak, he is absorbed in celestial peace, O my mind. ||2||2||158||
