ਦੋਊ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਧਾਵਤ ਭਈ ਅਧਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਮਨ ਕੀਨ ॥

doaoo triy dhaavat bhee adhik kop man keen |

They both had gone out duly broiling in rage.

ਤਸਕਰ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਦੁਹੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨ ॥੬॥

tasakar ko pat jaan kai duhoo triyan geh leen |6|

And, mistaking the thief as their husband, they apprehended him.( 6)

ਤਸਕਰ ਕੋ ਪਤਿ ਭਾਵ ਤੇ ਦੇਖਿਯੋ ਦਿਯਾ ਜਰਾਇ ॥

tasakar ko pat bhaav te dekhiyo diyaa jaraae |

They both lit the lamp and looked at him with the intention of recognising the husband.

ਚੋਰ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੁਟਵਾਰ ਕੇ ਦੀਨੋ ਧਾਮ ਪਠਾਇ ॥੭॥

chor jaan kuttavaar ke deeno dhaam patthaae |7|

But, realising him to be a thief, they handed him over to the chief of the city police and got him imprisoned.(7)(l)
