Chaupaee

ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜ ਮੁਹਿ ਬਚਨ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥

dharam raaj muhi bachan uchaare |

(The Voice) ‘What the Lord of Righteousness had expressed to me,

ਸੁ ਹੌ ਕਹਤ ਹੌ ਤੀਰ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ॥

su hau kehat hau teer tihaare |

Now I am going to tell you.

ਮੋਰੀ ਕਹੀ ਰਾਵ ਸੌ ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ॥

moree kahee raav sau kahiyahu |

‘He had asked me to make you to abide by this,

ਨਾਤਰ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਨਰਕ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਯਹੁ ॥੮੯॥

naatar bhramat narak meh rahiyahu |89|

Failing which, you will keeping on roaming around in the hell.(89)

ਜੈਸੋ ਕੋਟਿ ਜਗ︀ਯ ਤਪੁ ਕੀਨੋ ॥

jaiso kott jagay tap keeno |

‘Like the benefit of the meditation of thousands of years

ਤੈਸੋ ਸਾਚ ਨ︀ਯਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ॥

taiso saach nayaae kar deeno |

You must indulge in the Justice.

ਨ︀ਯਾਇ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥

nayaae saasatr lai raaj kamaavai |

‘One who does justice according to the righteousness of Shastras,

ਤਾ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਟ ਕਾਲ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥੯੦॥

taa ke nikatt kaal nahee aavai |90|

‘The god of destruction does not come near him.(90)
