BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA
ਕੰਪਾਈ ਸਟਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰਜ︀ਯੋ ਕ੍ਰੂਰੰ ॥
kanpaaee sattaa singh garajayo kraooran |
ਉਡ︀ਯੋ ਹੇਰਿ ਬੀਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਮੁਖਿ ਨੂਰੰ ॥
auddayo her beeraan ke mukh nooran |
Giving a jeck to his neck, Narsingh raised a terrible thunder and listening to his thunder, the faces of the heroes turned pale.
ਉਠ︀ਯੋ ਨਾਦ ਬੰਕੇ ਛੁਹੀ ਗੈਣਿ ਰਜੰ ॥
autthayo naad banke chhuhee gain rajan |
ਹਸੇ ਦੇਵ ਸਰਬੰ ਭਏ ਦੈਤ ਲਜੰ ॥੩੦॥
hase dev saraban bhe dait lajan |30|
Because of that dreadful sound, the earth trembled and its dust touched the sky. All the gods began to smile and the heads of the demons bowed down with shame.30.
ਮਚ︀ਯੰ ਦੁੰਦ ਜੁਧੰ ਮਚੇ ਦੁਇ ਜੁਆਣੰ ॥

ਤੜੰਕਾਰ ਤੇਗੰ ਕੜਕੇ ਕਮਾਣੰ ॥
tarrankaar tegan karrake kamaanan |
The dreadful war of both the heroic fighters got ablazed, and the clattering sound of the sword and the cracking sound of the bows was heard.
ਭਿਰਿਯੋ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਦਾਨਵੰ ਸੁਲਤਾਨੰ ॥
bhiriyo kop kai daanavan sulataanan |
ਹੜੰ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਚਲੇ ਮਧੰ ਮੁਲਤਾਣੰ ॥੩੧॥
harran sron chale madhan mulataanan |31|
The demon-king fought in great fury and there was a flood of blood in the battlefield.31.
ਕੜਕਾਰ ਤੇਗੰ ਤੜਕਾਰ ਤੀਰੰ ॥
karrakaar tegan tarrakaar teeran |
ਭਏ ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕੰ ਰਣੰ ਬੀਰ ਧੀਰੰ ॥

With the clattering of swords and the crackling noise of the arrows, the mighty and the enduring heroes were chopped into bits
ਬਜੇ ਸੰਖ ਭੂਰੰ ਸੁ ਢੋਲੰ ਢਮੰਕੇ ॥

ਰੜੰ ਕੰਕ ਬੰਕੇ ਡਹੈ ਬੀਰ ਬੰਕੇ ॥੩੨॥

The conches, clarionets and drums resounded and the wanton soldiers, riding on the sharp horses stood firmly in the battlefield.32.
ਭਜੇ ਬਾਜਿ ਗਾਜੀ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਅਨੇਕੰ ॥
bhaje baaj gaajee sipaahee anekan |
ਰਹੇ ਠਾਢਿ ਭੂਪਾਲ ਆਗੇ ਨ ਏਕੰ ॥
rahe tthaadt bhoopaal aage na ekan |
Many a warrior riding on the horses and elephants fled away and none of the chiefs could stand against Narsingh.
ਫਿਰਿਯੋ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰੰ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੂਰੰ ਕਰਾਲੰ ॥

That terrible and dreadful Narsingh moved in the battlefield and began to stir his neck and wag his tail.33.
