ਸਿਤਤਾ ਬਿਭੂਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਖੁਲੀ ਨਿਮੇਖ ਸੰਦੀ ਅੰਜਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਲੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਭਾਵ ਸੁਭ ਭਾਖਣਾ ॥
sitataa bibhoot ate mekhulee nimekh sandee anjan dee selee daa subhaav subh bhaakhanaa |
‘I have been languishing in his remembrance, my body has turned into ashes (of passion), ‘Tell him about my wearing a patched coat and a cap of a renouncer in his memory.
ਭਗਵਾ ਸੁ ਭੇਸ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੈਣਾ ਦੀ ਲਲਾਈ ਸਈਯੋ ਯਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਧ︀ਯਾਨੁ ਏਹੋ ਕੰਦ ਮੂਲ ਚਾਖਣਾ ॥
bhagavaa su bhes saadde nainaa dee lalaaee seeyo yaaraa daa dhayaan eho kand mool chaakhanaa |
‘I have adorned saffron clothes (of an ascetic), my eyes have turned red in pain and I am living on the food of his thought.
ਰੌਦਨ ਦਾ ਮਜਨੁ ਸੁ ਪੁਤਰੀ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਗੀਤ ਗੀਤਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਦੀ ਭਿਛ੍ਰਯਾ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਧੂੰਆ ਬਾਲ ਰਾਖਣਾ ॥
rauadan daa majan su putaree patr geet geetaa dekhan dee bhichhrayaa dhayaan dhoonaa baal raakhanaa |
‘I take my bath in my tears, and, while craving for his vision, my eyes are producing smoky flames.
ਆਲੀ ਏਨਾ ਗੋਪੀਯਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਖੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਜੋਗੁ ਸਾਰਾ ਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਰੂਰ ਜਾਇ ਆਖਣਾ ॥੬॥
aalee enaa gopeeyaa deean akheean daa jog saaraa nand de kumaar noo jaroor jaae aakhanaa |6|
‘O, my friend! Go and do tell the son of Nand the story of the self modification of the eyes of the milk-maids.’(6)
ਬੈਠੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਸਾਜਿ ਕੈ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਸਭ ਸਖਿਯਨ ਮੈ ਯਾਹੀ ਬੀਚ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਆਨਿ ਦੈ ਗਏ ॥
baitthee hutee saaj kai singaar sabh sakhiyan mai yaahee beech kaanrah joo dikhaaee aan dai ge |

ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਲੀਨੋ ਹੈ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਮਾਈ ਚੇਟਕ ਚਲਾਇ ਮਾਨੋ ਚੇਰੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੈ ਗਏ ॥
tab hee te leeno hai churaae chit mero maaee chettak chalaae maano cheree mohi kai ge |
‘O my mother! Where could I go to poison myself to death?
ਕਹਾ ਕਰੌ ਕਿਤੈ ਜਾਉ ਮਰੋ ਕਿਧੋ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਉ ਬੀਸ ਬਿਸ੍ਵੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਾਨ ਬਿਜੂ ਸੋ ਡਸੈ ਗਏ ॥
kahaa karau kitai jaau maro kidho bikh khaau bees bisvai mere jaan bijoo so ddasai ge |
‘I feel like the scorpions have bitten me.
ਚਖਨ ਚਿਤੋਨ ਸੌ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਮੇਰੋ ਲੀਯੋ ਲਟਪਟੀ ਪਾਗ ਸੋ ਲਪੇਟਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੈ ਗਏ ॥੭॥
chakhan chiton sau churaae chit mero leeyo lattapattee paag so lapett man lai ge |7|
‘He has stolen my heart and taken it away wrapped up in his turban (mind).(7)
