ਊਧਵ ਜੀ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਸੋ ਕਹੈ ਨਿਜੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਖੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਮੈ ॥
aoodhav jee kubajaa so kahai nij preet lakhee at hee tumaree mai |
Udhava said to Kubja that he had noticed her extremely profound love
ਹਉ ਅਤਿ ਦੀਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਅਨਾਥ ਨ ਬੈਠ ਸਕਉ ਸਮੁਹਾਇ ਹਰੀ ਮੈ ॥
hau at deen adheen anaath na baitth skau samuhaae haree mai |
He added that he was very lowly and poor and could not sit in front of Lord Krishna
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤਬੈ ਉਠਿ ਪੀੜੇ ਕਉ ਦੀਨ ਉਠਾਇ ਕੇ ਵਾਹੀ ਘਰੀ ਮੈ ॥
kaanrah prataap tabai utth peerre kau deen utthaae ke vaahee gharee mai |
ਪੈ ਇਤਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਭੂਅ ਬੈਠਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਗਹਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਨੇਹ ਛਰੀ ਮੈ ॥੯੮੯॥
pai itano kar kai bhooa baitth rahiyo geh paaein neh chharee mai |989|
Feeling glory of Krishna, he put the seat aside and holding the feet of Krishna in his hands with affection, he sat down on the earth.989.
ਜੇ ਪਦ ਪੰਕਜ ਸੇਸ ਮਹੇਸ ਸੁਰੇਸ ਦਿਨੇਸ ਨਿਸੇਸ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
je pad pankaj ses mahes sures dines nises na paae |
ਜੇ ਪਦ ਪੰਕਜ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਗ︀ਯਾਨ ਨ ਗਾਏ ॥
je pad pankaj bed puraan bakhaan pramaan kai gayaan na gaae |
The feet, which could not be attained by Sheshanaga, Shiva, the sun and the moon and whose glory has been narrated in Vedas, Puranas etc.
ਜੇ ਪਦ ਪੰਕਜ ਸਿਧ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਮੈ ਸਾਧਤ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਮੋਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
je pad pankaj sidh samaadh mai saadhat hai man mon lagaae |
ਜੇ ਪਦ ਪੰਕਜ ਕੇਸਵ ਕੇ ਅਬ ਊਧਵ ਲੈ ਕਰ ਮੈ ਸਹਰਾਏ ॥੯੯੦॥
je pad pankaj kesav ke ab aoodhav lai kar mai saharaae |990|
Those feet, on which the adepts meditate in their trance, now Udhava is pressing those feet with great affection.990.
ਸੰਤ ਸਹਾਰਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਪਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਗਸਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਸੋਊ ॥
sant sahaarat sayaam ke paae mahaa bigasiyo man bheetar soaoo |
The saints who develop extremely on the spiritual plane, they only endure the Glory of Lord’s feet
ਜੋਗਨ ਕੇ ਜੋਊ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਨ ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਬ︀ਯਾਕੁਲ ਹੋਊ ॥
jogan ke joaoo dhayaan ke beech na aavat hai at bayaakul hoaoo |
Those feet, which are not observed in the meditation by the impatient Yogis,
ਜਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ਸੇਸ ਸੁਰਾਦਿਕ ਖੋਜਤ ਅੰਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਤ ਕੋਊ ॥
jaa brahamaadik ses suraadik khojat ant na paavat koaoo |
ਸੋ ਪਦ ਕੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਸਮ ਤੁਲਿ ਪਲੋਟਤ ਊਧਵ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੋਊ ॥੯੯੧॥
so pad kanjan kee sam tul palottat aoodhav lai kar doaoo |991|
And whose mystery has not been understood by Brahma, Indra, Sheshanaga etc., those lotus-feet are now being pressed by Udhava with his hands.991.
ਇਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪਲੋਟਤ ਊਧਵ ਪਾਇ ਉਤੈ ਉਨ ਮਾਲਨਿ ਸਾਜ ਕੀਏ ॥
eit sayaam palottat aoodhav paae utai un maalan saaj kee |
On this side Udhava is pressing the feet of Krishna, on the other side the female gardener Kubja bedecked herself
ਸੁਭ ਬਜ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਅਰੁ ਲਾਲ ਜਵਾਹਰ ਦੇਖਿ ਜਿਸੈ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਤ ਜੀਏ ॥
subh bajran ke ar laal javaahar dekh jisai sukh hot jee |
She wore the comfort-giving precious stones like rubies, gems etc.,
ਇਤਨੇ ਪਹਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਪੈ ਆਇ ਗਈ ਬਿੰਦੁਰੀ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਈਗਰ ਭਾਲਿ ਦੀਏ ॥
eitane peh kaanrah pai aae gee binduree kahiyo eegar bhaal dee |
And applying the mark on the forehead and putting vermilion in the parting of the hair, she went and sat near Krishna
ਤਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਹੀਏ ॥੯੯੨॥
tih roop nihaar hulaas badtiyo kab sayaam kahai jadubeer hee |992|
Seeing her beauty and elegance, Krishna was very much pleased in his mind.992.
ਸਜਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਮਾਲਨਿ ਅੰਗਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਸ ਗਈ ॥
saj saajan maalan angan mai at sundar so har paas gee |
ਮਨੋ ਦੂਸਰਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਮਨੋ ਹੇਰਤ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਰੂਪ ਮਈ ॥
mano doosar chandrakalaa pragattee mano herat kai ih roop mee |
After bedecking herself, the female gardener Kubja went to Krishna and appeared the second manifestation of Chandarkala
ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਲਖਿ ਕੈ ਜੀਯ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਐਚ ਲਈ ॥
har joo lakh kai jeey kee birathaa kab sayaam kahai soaoo aich lee |
Feeling the distress of the mind of Kubja, Krishna pulled her towards himself
ਤਿਹ ਊਪਰਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਅਸੰਕ ਭਈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਸੰਕ ਪਰਾਇ ਗਈ ॥੯੯੩॥
tih aoopar bais asank bhee man kee sabh sank paraae gee |993|
Kubja also sitting in the embrace of Krishna abandoned her shyness and all her hesitations ended.993.
ਬਹੀਯਾ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਗਹਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮਿ ਲਈ ਕੁਬਿਜਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
baheeyaa jab hee geh sayaam lee kubijaa at hee man mai sukh paayo |
When Krishna caught hold of the arm of Kubja, she felt extreme delight
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੈ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
sayaam mile bahute din mai ham kau keh kai ih bhaat sunaayo |
She said audibly, “O Krishna! you have met me after many days
ਚੰਦਨ ਜਿਉ ਤੁਹਿ ਅੰਗ ਮਲਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਰਿਝਾਯੋ ॥
chandan jiau tuhi ang maliyo tih te ham hoon jadubeer rijhaayo |
ਜੋਊ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਥੋ ਜੀਯ ਮੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਮਿਲਏ ਸੋਊ ਮੋ ਕਰਿ ਆਯੋ ॥੯੯੪॥
joaoo manorath tho jeey mai tumare mile soaoo mo kar aayo |994|
“I have rubbed the sandal on my limbs for thy sake, O the hero of Yadavas, for your pleasure and now on meeting you, I have attained the objective of my mind.”994.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕੁਬਜਾ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥
