ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਕਰਾਇਆ ।

karan kaaran samarath hai saadhasangat daa karai karaaeaa |

All competent God Himself is the efficient as well as material cause of all but He does everything according to the will of the holy congregation.

ਭਰੈ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਦੇਇ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ।

bharai bhanddaar daataar hai saadhasangat daa dee divaaeaa |

The stores of that bestower are full but he gives according to the wishes of the holy congregation.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ।

paarabraham gur roop hoe saadhasangat gur sabad samaaeaa |

That transcendental Brahm, by being the Guru, enrapts the holy congregation into the Word, sabad.

ਜਗ ਭੋਗ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਰੇ ਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ।

jag bhog jog dhiaan kar poojaa pare na darasan paaeaa |

His glimpse can not be had by performing of yajna, offering sweets, yoga, concentration, ritualistic worship and ablutions.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਿਉ ਪੁਤੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਿਤਾ ਖਾਇ ਪੈਨ੍ਹੈ ਪੈਨ੍ਹਾਇਆ ।

saadhasangat piau put hoe ditaa khaae painhai painhaaeaa |

Fellows in the holy congregation maintain father-son relationship with the Guru,

ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਸਿਖ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਇਆ ।

gharabaaree hoe varatiaa gharabaaree sikh pairee paaeaa |

and whatever he gives to eat and put on, they eat and wear.

ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ਰਖਾਇਆ ।੨।

maaeaa vich udaas rakhaaeaa |2|

God remains detached in maya.
