ਦਿਵਸ ਅਸਟਮੀ ਕੋ ਜਬ ਆਯੋ ॥

ਜਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਏਕ ਰਾਨਿਯਹਿ ਭਾਯੋ ॥

jaatree ek raaniyeh bhaayo |

Once on the day of Ashtmi, Rani met a traveller,

ਤਾ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਤ ਮਨ ਭਾਵੈ ॥

taa sau bhog karat man bhaavai |

ਘਾਤ ਏਕਹੂੰ ਹਾਥ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੯॥

ghaat ekahoon haath na aavai |9|

She felt like having sex with him but she could not get the opportunity, (9)

ਯਹੈ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

yahai bihaar chit meh aayo |

ਜਾਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਹ ਪਿਛਵਾਰ ਸਦਾਯੋ ॥

jaatree keh pichhavaar sadaayo |

With this in mind, she thought of a plan to call the traveller at the back of the place.

ਤਾ ਸੋ ਘਾਤ ਯਹੈ ਬਦਿ ਰਾਖੀ ॥

taa so ghaat yahai bad raakhee |

ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਰਾਵ ਜੂ ਤਨ ਯੌ ਭਾਖੀ ॥੧੦॥

pragatt raav joo tan yau bhaakhee |10|

ਜਾਨਸਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਪਿਛਵਾਰੇ ਆਵਾ ॥

jaanas mit pichhavaare aavaa |

ਬਦਿ ਸੰਕੇਤਿ ਯੌ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਵਾ ॥

bad sanket yau bachan sunaavaa |

‘When he had come at the back of the house, I would, candidly, announce,

ਸਖਿਯਹਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਕਾਲਿ ਮੈ ਜੈਹੋ ॥

sakhiyeh sahit kaal mai jaiho |

ਪੂਜ ਗੌਰਜਾ ਕੌ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਐਹੌ ॥੧੧॥
