ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਥਾ ਸਤਾਇਸੀ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਕਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੰਗ ॥

mantree kathaa sataaeisee dutiy kahee nrip sang |

The minister had narrated the fifty-third tale.

ਸੁ ਕਬਿ ਰਾਮ ਔਰੈ ਚਲੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ॥੧॥

su kab raam aauarai chalee tab hee kathaa prasang |1|

Now, as the poet Ram says, a series of other tales begin.(1)

ਤ੍ਰਿਤਿਯਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਯੌ ਕਹੀ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਕਥਾ ਮਮ ਨਾਥ ॥

tritiyaa mantree yau kahee sunahu kathaa mam naath |

Then the Minister expounded, ‘Listen to the tale, my Master.’

ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਕਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਇਕ ਕਹੋ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ਸਾਥ ॥੨॥

eisatree keh charitr ik kaho tuhaare saath |2|
