ਮਾਰਿ ਲਏ ਰਿਪੁ ਬੀਰ ਦੋਊ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤਉ ਮਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭਰਿਯੋ ॥
maar le rip beer doaoo nrip tau man bheetar krodh bhariyo |
When both the brothers killed the enemies, the king was filled with rage
ਇਨ ਕੋ ਭਟ ਮਾਰਹੁ ਖੇਤ ਅਬੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਅਰੁ ਸੋਰ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥
ein ko bhatt maarahu khet abai ih bhaat kahiyo ar sor kariyo |
He, in great tumultuousness, said to his warriors, “Kill both of them just now,”
ਜਦੁਰਾਇ ਭਰਥੂ ਤਬ ਪਾਨ ਲਗੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥
jaduraae bharathoo tab paan lago apane man mai nahee naik ddariyo |
The king of the Yadavas (Krishna) and his brother, catching hand of each other, stood there fearlessly
ਜੋਊ ਆਇ ਪਰਿਯੋ ਹਰ ਪੈ ਕੁਪਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਥਾ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਸੋਊ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥੮੫੦॥
joaoo aae pariyo har pai kup kai har thaa par so soaoo maar ddariyo |850|
Whosoever fell upon them in fury, was killed at that place by Krishna and Balram.850.
ਹਰਿ ਕੂਦਿ ਤਬੈ ਰੰਗ ਭੂਮਹਿ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਥੋ ਸੁ ਜਹਾ ਤਹ ਹੀ ਪਗੁ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

Now, jumping from the stage, Krishna stabilized his feet at the place where king Kansa was seated
ਕੰਸ ਲਈ ਕਰਿ ਢਾਲਿ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਕੋਪ ਭਰਿਯੋ ਅਸਿ ਖੈਚ ਨਿਕਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
kans lee kar dtaal sanbhaar kai kop bhariyo as khaich nikaariyo |
Kansa, in anger, controlling his shield, pulled out his sword and struck a blow on Krishna
ਦਉਰਿ ਦਈ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਫਾਧਿ ਗਏ ਅਤਿ ਦਾਵ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
daur dee tih ke tan pai har faadh ge at daav sanbhaariyo |
Krishna jumped away and saved himself from this stratagem
ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਕੈ ਬਲ ਤਾਹਿੰ ਪਛਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੮੫੧॥
kesan te geh kai rip ko dharanee par kai bal taahin pachhaariyo |851|
He caught hold of the enemy from his hair and with force dashed him on the ground.851.
ਗਹਿ ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਪਟਕਿਯੋ ਧਰ ਸੋ ਗਹ ਗੋਡਨ ਤੇ ਤਬ ਘੀਸ ਦਯੋ ॥
geh kesan te pattakiyo dhar so geh goddan te tab ghees dayo |
Catching hold of his hair, Krishna threw Kansa on the erth and catching his leg, he dragged him
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰਿ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਜੀਯ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਪੁਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਸੋਰ ਪਯੋ ॥
nrip maar hulaas badtiyo jeey mai at hee pur bheetar sor payo |
Killing the king Kansa, Krishna’s mind was filled with delight and on the other side there were loud lamentations in the palace
ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਪਿਖੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਧਨ ਰਾਖ ਕੈ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਛਯੋ ॥
kab sayaam prataap pikho har ko jin saadhan raakh kai satr chhayo |
The poet says that the glory of Lord Krishna may be visualised, who has protected the saints and destroyed the enemies
ਕਟਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਤਾਤ ਦਏ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਜਸ ਵਾਹਿ ਲਯੋ ॥੮੫੨॥
katt bandhan taat de man ke sabh hee jag mai jas vaeh layo |852|
He has broken the bondages of all and in this way, he has broken the bondages of all and in this way, he has been praised by the world.
ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਬਧ ਕੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਬਿਸਰਾਤ ਕੇ ਘਾਟ ਕੈ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

ਕੰਸ ਕੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਲੀ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਦੇਖਤ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਕੋਪੁ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
kans ke beer balee ju hute tin dekhat sayaam ko kop badtaayo |
After killing the enemy, Krishna came on the ferry of Yamuna and when he saw there other warriors of Kansa, he was greatly enraged
ਸੋ ਨ ਗਯੋ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਸ ਛਮਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
so na gayo tin paas chhamiyo har ke sang aae kai judh machaayo |
He, who did not come to him, he was forgive, but still some warriors came and began to wage war with him
ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ਤਬੈ ਬਲ ਕੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੮੫੩॥
sayaam sanbhaar tabai bal ko tin ko dharanee par maar giraayo |853|
He sustaining his power, killed all of them.853.
ਗਜ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਕੁਪਿ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਡਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਹੀ ਪੈਗ ਟਰੇ ॥
gaj so at hee kup judh kariyo tih te ddar kai nahee paig ttare |
Krishna, highly infuriated, fought persistently with the elephant, in the beginning
ਦੋਊ ਮਲ ਮਰੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਤਹਾ ਪਹਰੇ ਕੁ ਲਰੇ ॥
doaoo mal mare rang bhoom bikhai kab sayaam tahaa pahare ku lare |
Then, fighting continuously for a few hours, he killed both the wrestlers on the stage
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਮਾਰ ਗਏ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਬੀਰ ਭਿਰੇ ਸੋਊ ਆਨਿ ਮਰੇ ॥
nrip raaj ko maar ge jamunaa tatt beer bhire soaoo aan mare |
Then killing Kansa and reaching the bank of Yamuna, he fought with these warriors and killed them
ਰਖਿ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਦਏ ਨਭਿ ਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਊਪਰਿ ਫੂਲ ਪਰੇ ॥੮੫੪॥
rakh saadhan satr sanghaar de nabh te tih aoopar fool pare |854|
There was shower of flowers from the sky, because Krishna protected the saints and killed the enemies.854.
