NARAAJ STANZA

ਮਹਿਖ ਦਈਤ ਸੂਰਯੰ ॥

mahikh deet soorayan |

ਬਢਿਯੋ ਸੋ ਲੋਹ ਪੂਰਯੰ ॥

badtiyo so loh poorayan |

He conquered Indra, the king of gods

ਸੁ ਦੇਵ ਰਾਜ ਜੀਤਯੰ ॥

su dev raaj jeetayan |

ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਯੰ ॥੧॥

trilok raaj keetayan |1|

And ruled over the three worlds.1.

ਭਜੇ ਸੁ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਤਬੈ ॥

bhaje su devataa tabai |

At that time the gods ran away

ਇਕਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਸਬੈ ॥

eikatr hoe kai sabai |

And all of them gathered together.

ਮਹੇਸੁਰਾਚਲੰ ਬਸੇ ॥

mahesuraachalan base |

They inhabited the Kailash mountain

ਬਿਸੇਖ ਚਿਤ ਮੋ ਤ੍ਰਸੇ ॥੨॥

bisekh chit mo trase |2|

With great fear in their mind.2.

ਜੁਗੇਸ ਭੇਸ ਧਾਰ ਕੈ ॥

juges bhes dhaar kai |

They disguised themselves as great Yogis

ਭਜੇ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ਡਾਰ ਕੈ ॥

bhaje hathiyaar ddaar kai |

And throwing their weapons, they all ran away.

ਪੁਕਾਰ ਆਰਤੰ ਚਲੈ ॥

pukaar aaratan chalai |

Crying in great distress they walked.

ਬਿਸੂਰ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਭਲੇ ॥੩॥

bisoor sooramaa bhale |3|

The fine heroes were in great agony.3.

ਬਰਖ ਕਿਤੇ ਤਹਾ ਰਹੇ ॥

barakh kite tahaa rahe |

They lived there for may years

ਸੁ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਮੋ ਸਹੇ ॥

su dukh deh mo sahe |

And endured many sufferings on their bodies.

ਜਗਤ੍ਰ ਮਾਤਿ ਧਿਆਇਯੰ ॥

jagatr maat dhiaaeiyan |

They mediated on the mother of the universe

ਸੁ ਜੈਤ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਇਯੰ ॥੪॥

su jait patr paaeiyan |4|

For conquering the demon Mahishasura.4.

ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਭਏ ॥

prasan devataa bhe |

The gods wrere pleased

ਚਰੰਨ ਪੂਜਬੇ ਧਏ ॥

charan poojabe dhe |

And sped to worship the feet of the goddess.

ਸਨੰਮੁਖਾਨ ਠਢੀਯੰ ॥

sanamukhaan tthadteeyan |

They stood before her

ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਪਾਠ ਪਢੀਯੰ ॥੫॥

pranaam paatth padteeyan |5|

And recited her eulogy.5.
