ਹਿੰਮਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾ ਰਿਸ ਸਿਉ ਇਹ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਪੈ ਤਰਵਾਰ ਚਲਾਈ ॥
hinmat singh mahaa ris siau ih bhoopat pai taravaar chalaaee |
Himmat Singh, furiously, struck a blow with his sword on the king
ਹਾਥ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੈ ਢਾਲ ਲਈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੋਊ ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਬਚਾਈ ॥
haath sanbhaal kai dtaal lee tab hee soaoo aavat hee su bachaaee |
The king saved himself from this blow with his shield
ਫੂਲਹੁ ਪੈ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਲਗੀ ਚਿਨਗਾਰਿ ਜਗੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਗਾਈ ॥
foolahu pai karavaar lagee chinagaar jagee upamaa kab gaaee |
ਬਾਸਵ ਪੈ ਸਿਵ ਕੋਪ ਕੀਓ ਮਾਨੋ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਨੈਨ ਕੀ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਦਿਖਾਈ ॥੧੫੭੩॥
baasav pai siv kop keeo maano teesare nain kee jvaal dikhaaee |1573|
The sword struck the protruded part of the shield and the sparks came out like the fire of the third eye shown by Shiva to Indra.1573.
ਪੁਨਿ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾਬਲੁ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭੂਪ ਕੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਘਾਉ ਕੀਓ ॥
pun hinmat singh mahaabal kai ih bhoop ke aoopar ghaau keeo |
Then Himmat Singh again gave a blow to the king with his might
ਕਰਿ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਲੁ ਕੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤਉ ਲਲਕਾਰਿ ਹਕਾਰ ਲੀਓ ॥
kar vaar firio apune dal ko nrip tau lalakaar hakaar leeo |
When he turned towards his army after striking the blow, the king challenged him at the same time and gave a blow of his sword of his head
ਸਿਰ ਮਾਝ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕੀ ਤਾਨ ਦਈ ਬਿਬਿ ਖੰਡ ਹੁਇ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਨ ਜੀਓ ॥
sir maajh kripaan kee taan dee bib khandd hue bhoom girio na jeeo |
He fell down lifeless on the earth
ਸਿਰਿ ਤੇਗ ਬਹੀ ਚਪਲਾ ਸੀ ਮਨੋ ਅਧ ਬੀਚ ਤੇ ਭੂਧਰ ਚੀਰਿ ਦੀਓ ॥੧੫੭੪॥
sir teg bahee chapalaa see mano adh beech te bhoodhar cheer deeo |1574|
The sword struck him on the head like the lightening cutting and dividing the mountain into two halvas.1574.
ਹਿੰਮਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਹਨਿਓ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਭਟ ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ॥
hinmat singh hanio jab hee tab hee sab hee bhatt kop bhare |
When Himmat Singh was killed, all the warriors were highly infuriated
ਮਹਾ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਆਦਿਕ ਬੀਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਇਹ ਪੈ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ਹੀ ਟੂਟਿ ਪਰੇ ॥
mahaa rudr te aadik beer jite ih pai ik baar hee ttoott pare |
All the mighty warriors including Maharudra etc., they all together fell upon the king.
ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਦਾ ਬਰਛੀਨ ਕੇ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਬਹੁ ਵਾਰ ਕਰੇ ॥
dhan baan kripaan gadaa barachheen ke sayaam bhanai bahu vaar kare |
And with their bows, arrows, swords, maces and lances, they hurled many blows on the king
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਘਾਇ ਬਚਾਇ ਸਭੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਪਉਰਖ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਡਰੇ ॥੧੫੭੫॥
nrip ghaae bachaae sabhai tin ke ih paurakh dekh kai satr ddare |1575|
The king saved himself from their blows and seeing such bravery of the king, all the enemies became fearful.1575.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਜਿਤੇ ਗਨ ਦੇਵ ਤਿਤੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਊਪਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
rudr te aad jite gan dev tite mil kai nrip aoopar dhaae |
All the ganas including Rudra, all of them together fell upon the king
ਤੇ ਸਬ ਆਵਤ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਲੀ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਨਿ ਹਕਾਰ ਕੈ ਬਾਨ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
te sab aavat dekh balee dhan taan hakaar kai baan lagaae |
Seeing them all coming this great warrior challenged them and discharged his arrows
ਏਕ ਗਿਰੇ ਤਹ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੁਇ ਇਕ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਭਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਜੁਧੁ ਪਰਾਏ ॥
ek gire teh ghaaeil hue ik traas bhare taj judh paraae |
Some of them fell down wounded there and some of them becoming fearful fled away
ਏਕ ਲਰੈ ਨ ਡਰੈ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਸੋਊ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥੧੫੭੬॥
ek larai na ddarai balavaan nidaan soaoo nrip maar giraae |1576|
Some of them fearlessly fought with the king, who killed them all.1576.
ਸਿਵ ਕੇ ਦਸ ਸੈ ਗਨ ਜੀਤ ਲਏ ਰਿਸ ਸੋ ਪੁਨਿ ਲਛਕ ਜਛ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
siv ke das sai gan jeet le ris so pun lachhak jachh sanghaare |
Conquering the ten hundred ganas of Shiva, the king killed one lakh Yakshas
ਰਾਛਸ ਤੇਈਸ ਲਾਖ ਹਨੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਜਮ ਧਾਮ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
raachhas teees laakh hane kab sayaam bhanai jam dhaam sidhaare |
He killed twenty-three lakh demons who reached the abode of Yama
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਥ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਬਹੁ ਦਾਰੁਕ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਘਾਉ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
sree brijanaath keeo birathee bahu daaruk ke tan ghaau prahaare |
He deprived Krishna of his chariot and wounded Daruk, his charioteer
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਸੂਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਨਿਸੇਸ ਧਨੇਸ ਜਲੇਸ ਪਸ੍ਵੇਸ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੧੫੭੭॥
dvaadas soor nihaar nises dhanes jales pasves padhaare |1577|
Seeing this spectacle, the twelve Suryas, Chandra, Kuber, Varuna and Pashupatnath fled away.1577.
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਅਯੁਤ ਗਜ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਪੁਨਿ ਤੀਸ ਹਜਾਰ ਰਥੀ ਰਿਸਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
bahuro ayut gaj maarat bhayo pun tees hajaar rathee ris ghaayo |
Then the king knocked down many horses and elephants and also thirty thousand charioteers
ਛਤੀਸ ਲਾਖ ਸੁ ਪਤ੍ਰਯ ਹਨੇ ਦਸ ਲਾਖ ਸ੍ਵਾਰਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥
chhatees laakh su patray hane das laakh svaaran maar giraayo |
He killed thirty-six lakh soldiers on foot and ten lakh horsemen
ਭੂਪਤਿ ਲਛ ਹਨੇ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਦਲ ਜਛ ਪ੍ਰਤਛਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਭਜਾਯੋ ॥
bhoopat lachh hane bahuro dal jachh pratachheh maar bhajaayo |
He killed on lakh kings and caused the army of Yakshas to run away
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਸੂਰਨ ਗਿਆਰਹ ਰੁਦ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਕਉ ਹਨਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੭੮॥
dvaadas sooran giaarah rudran ke dal kau han kai pun dhaayo |1578|
After killing the twelve Suryas and eleven Rudras, the king fell upon the army of the enemy.1578.
ਸਾਠ ਹਜਾਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਭਟ ਜਛ ਸੁ ਲਛ ਕਈ ਤਿਹ ਘਾਏ ॥
saatth hajaar hane bahuro bhatt jachh su lachh kee tih ghaae |
After killing sixty thousand warriors, the king knocked down one lakh Yakshas
ਜਾਦਵ ਲਛ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਬਹੁ ਜਛਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਲਛ ਬਨਾਏ ॥
jaadav lachh kee birathee bahu jachhan ke tan lachh banaae |
He deprived one lakh Yadavas of their chariots and made the Yakshas his target
ਪੈਦਲ ਲਾਖ ਪਚਾਸ ਹਨੇ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
paidal laakh pachaas hane puraje puraje kar bhoom giraae |
He scattered fifty lakh soldiers on foot in fragments on the earth
ਅਉਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਭੂਪ ਕੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਏ ॥੧੫੭੯॥
aaur hane balavaan kripaan lai jo ih bhoop ke aoopar aae |1579|
Instead of them, the warriors who attacked the king with their swords, he killed them all.1579.
ਤਾਉ ਦੇ ਮੂਛਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਰ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸੈਨ ਨੈ ਜਾਇ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
taau de moochh duhoon kar bhoopat sain nai jaae nisank pariyo |
The king, twisting his whiskers, fearlessly fell upon the army
ਪੁਨਿ ਲਾਖ ਸੁਆਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਿ ਕੈ ਸਸਿ ਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਕੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਹਰਿਯੋ ॥
pun laakh suaar hane bal kai sas ko rav ko abhimaan hariyo |
He again killed one lakh horsemen and shattered the pride of Surya and Chandra, even with a single arrow, he knocked down Yama on the ground
ਜਮ ਕੋ ਸਰ ਏਕ ਤੇ ਡਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਛਿਤਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥
jam ko sar ek te ddaar dayo chhit sayaam bhanai nahee naik ddariyo |
He did not become fearful even slightly
ਜੋਊ ਸੂਰ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਸਬਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਖੰਡ ਨਿਖੰਡ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੫੮੦॥
joaoo soor kahaavat hai ran mai sabahoon nrip khandd nikhandd kariyo |1580|
Those who called themselves heroes, the king chopped them into bits.1580.
ਰਨ ਮੈ ਦਸ ਲਛ ਹਨੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਜਛ ਜਲਾਧਿਪ ਕੋ ਭਟ ਲਛਕੁ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
ran mai das lachh hane pun jachh jalaadhip ko bhatt lachhak maario |
He killed in the war ten lakh Yakshas and about a lakh warriors of Varuna
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਨੇ ਅਗਨੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
eindr ke soor hane agane kab sayaam bhanai su nahee nrip haario |
He also killed innumerable warriors of Indra and did not suffer defeat
ਸਾਤਕਿ ਕਉ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ ਕਉ ਬਸੁਦੇਵਹਿ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਰਛ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥
saatak kau musaleedhar kau basudeveh kau kar moorachh ddaario |
He made Satyaki, Balram and Vasudev unconscious
ਭਾਜ ਗਯੋ ਜਮ ਅਉਰ ਸਚੀਪਤਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਨ ਹਾਥਿ ਹਥੀਯਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੮੧॥
bhaaj gayo jam aaur sacheepat kaahoon na haath hatheeyaar sanbhaario |1581|
Yama and Indra, without taking up their weapons, fled away from the battlefield.1581.
