ਰਾਮ ਬਾਚ ਮਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥

Speech of Ram addressed to the Mother :

ਤਾਤ ਦਯੋ ਬਨਬਾਸ ਹਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹ ਰਜਾਇ ਅਬੈ ਤਹ ਜਾਊ ॥

taat dayo banabaas hamai tum deh rajaae abai teh jaaoo |

ਕੰਟਕ ਕਾਨ ਬੇਹੜ ਗਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯੋਦਸ ਬਰਖ ਬਿਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਊ ॥

kanttak kaan beharr gaeh triyodas barakh bite fir aaoo |

“The father has exiled me and now you permit us to depart for the forest, I shall come back on the fourteenth year after roaming in the forest stuffed with thorns for thirteen years.

ਜੀਤ ਰਹੇ ਤੁ ਮਿਲੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਤ ਮਰੇ ਗਏ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੀ ਬਖਸਾਊ ॥

jeet rahe tu milo fir maat mare ge bhool paree bakhasaaoo |

ਭੂਪਹ ਕੈ ਅਰਿਣੀ ਬਰ ਤੇ ਬਸ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਮੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਮਾਊ ॥੨੫੫॥

bhoopah kai arinee bar te bas ke bal mo fir raaj kamaaoo |255|

“O mother! if I live, we shall meet again and if I die then for that purpose I have come to request you for forgiveness of my mistakes. On account of the boons granted by the king after residing in the forest, I shall rule again.”255.
