Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮੑਾਰੈ ॥

mero man jat kat tujheh samaarai |

My mind contemplates You, O Lord, all the time.

ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਪਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ham baarik deen pitaa prabh mere jiau jaaneh tiau paarai |1| rahaau |

I am Your meek and helpless child; You are God my Father. As You know me, You save me. ||1||Pause||

ਜਬ ਭੁਖੌ ਤਬ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਅਘਾਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਘਾਰੈ ॥

jab bhukhau tab bhojan maangai aghaae sookh saghaarai |

When I am hungry, I ask for food; when I am full, I am totally at peace.

ਤਬ ਅਰੋਗ ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੌ ਛੁਟਕਤ ਹੋਇ ਰਵਾਰੈ ॥੧॥

tab arog jab tum sang basatau chhuttakat hoe ravaarai |1|

When I dwell with You, I am free of disease; if I become separated from You, I turn to dust. ||1||

ਕਵਨ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਥਾਪਿਉ ਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੈ ॥

kavan basero daas daasan ko thaapiau thaapanahaarai |

What power does the slave of Your slave have, O Establisher and Disestablisher?

ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਤਬ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੫੨॥

naam na bisarai tab jeevan paaeeai binatee naanak ih saarai |2|29|52|

If I do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, then I die. Nanak offers this prayer. ||2||29||52||
