Basant, Fifth Mehl:

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਕੀਨੑੇ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥

hukam kar keenae nihaal |

By His Will, He makes us happy.

ਅਪਨੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥੧॥

apane sevak kau bheaa deaal |1|

He shows Mercy to His servant. ||1||

ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਆ ॥

gur poorai sabh pooraa keea |

The Perfect Guru makes everything perfect.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

amrit naam rid meh deea |1| rahaau |

He implants the Amrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, in the heart. ||1||Pause||

ਕਰਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿਓ ॥

karam dharam meraa kachh na beechaario |

He does not consider the karma of my actions, or my Dharma, my spiritual practice.

ਬਾਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥

baah pakar bhavajal nisataario |2|

Taking me by the arm, He saves me and carries me across the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਾਟਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰੇ ॥

prabh kaatt mail niramal kare |

God has rid me of my filth, and made me stainless and pure.

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਰੇ ॥੩॥

gur poore kee saranee pare |3|

I have sought the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru. ||3||

ਆਪਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ॥

aap kareh aap karanaihaare |

He Himself does, and causes everything to be done.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੭॥

kar kirapaa naanak udhaare |4|4|17|

By His Grace, O Nanak, He saves us. ||4||4||17||
